Willow is a powerful character in Brawl Stars who can really control the battlefield. This guide will break down everything you need to know about her – including her unique attacks, gadgets, star powers, and best gear – to help you become a master player.
Brawl Stars Willow: Brawler Overview
I’m so excited about Willow! She’s an amazing new Brawler with really powerful skills. You can unlock her in a couple of ways. You can buy her directly through the Starr Road using Credits, or you can earn Starr Drops by playing matches, participating in events, and through the Brawl Pass. When you open those Starr Drops, you have a chance to get Willow – fingers crossed!
- Rarity: Mythic
- Class: Controller
- Health at level 11: 6200
- Damage at level 11: 800 per second
Brawl Stars Willow Guide: Abilities Breakdown
Willow’s Attack: Lantern’s Curse

Her primary attack lets her throw a lantern that breaks on impact, creating a lingering puddle similar to Barley’s. Enemies caught in the puddle receive 800 damage over two seconds, dealt three times.
Willow’s Super: Hex
Hex is a Super ability that launches a tadpole at an enemy Brawler. This completely heals the enemy, gives you control of them for 4 seconds, and also provides them with a shield that reduces incoming damage by 50% during those 4 seconds.

You can directly control these units and use their regular attacks. However, you won’t be able to use their special Super abilities or Gadgets while controlling them. Control ends automatically after 4 seconds, or if the controlled Brawler’s health falls to 30%.
Tips for using Willow’s Super
- Don’t waste it on Tanks: Don’t waste the Super on tanky Brawlers, as they generally have slow movements and short-range basic attacks, like Bull, El Primo, or Rosa, to name a few. Since you can’t use their Super, you won’t get much value controlling them.
- Prioritize high damage dealers: You should target Brawlers with heavy basic attack damage, like Piper or Colt. Since their basic attacks are really good, you can deal decent damage and disrupt the enemy team’s gameplay at the same time.
Brawl Stars Willow Guide: Gadgets, Star Powers, and Hypercharge
Star Powers
Love is Blind

Willow’s first Star Power, ‘Love is Blind,’ slows down the reload speed of enemies hit by her Lantern’s Curse.
Obsession

The new Star Power, called ‘Obsession’, lets you take control of an opponent by using their own Super ability. It also gives them a speed boost while you control them.
Gadgets
Spellbound

Spellbound increases the damage you deal to enemies and delivers it all at once, rather than over time. It has a 13-second cooldown.
Dive

The Dive is her second Gadget, letting you become briefly invincible and submerge yourself underwater for two seconds. However, you can’t do anything else while diving. After using it, there’s a 16-second wait before you can use the Dive again.
Hypercharge: Psychic Safety

Willow’s Psychic Safety Hypercharge makes her Super much stronger. When she lands her Super, she gains a shield that protects her from damage. This shield lasts until an enemy breaks her Hex, and it also gives her a boost to Speed, Damage, and Shield strength.
Best Game Modes for Willow
Best Brawler Combination with Willow
Willow is a powerful Brawler, but she doesn’t have a lot of health or deal a ton of damage on her own. To get the most out of her, team her up with other Brawlers. For example, Ollie makes a great partner because he’s very mobile and can quickly engage enemies, letting Willow safely attack from behind.
Finx pairs well with Willow, offering a blend of frontline strength and support, even though they both control the battlefield. For a more aggressive team, try combining Finx with Sam, or for unpredictable strategies, team up with Gray and utilize his teleporting portals.
Best Gears for Willow in Brawl Stars
Shield Gear

Willow doesn’t have a lot of health, so equipping the Shield Gear is a great idea. It gives you an extra 900 health as a temporary shield that refills after 10 seconds when you’re at full health, helping you survive tough spots and escape danger.
Damage Gear

In Brawl Stars, dealing more damage always helps, and that’s true for Willow as well. This gear boosts her damage by 15% when her health falls below 50%.
