In simpler terms, Supercell’s hit game, Brawl Stars, is about to get a fresh new look with its updated logo coming in early September. The developers felt that their previous logo seemed outdated and overly complicated compared to other contemporary games, so they decided it was time for an upgrade to better reflect the essence of Brawl Stars.
Why a logo refresh became necessary for Brawl Stars
The developers mentioned that the previous design didn’t fully capture the brand’s identity. They highlighted that “Brawl” is the key aspect of the brand and the most identifiable part of the game’s name, yet in the current logo, “Stars,” which stands out due to its prominent color and font size, is what catches the eye first.
With the upcoming update, the Brawl Stars emblem is set for a revitalization! ✨
Reason being:
The existing logo seemed somewhat outdated and overly complex compared to contemporary brands boasting sleeker designs.
Additionally, while “Brawl” lies at the heart of the brand, it wasn’t as prominently featured…— Brawl Stars (@BrawlStars) August 23, 2025
They mentioned that the intricacy of the logo presented difficulties, as they noted that the previous design consisted of many distinct components blended together, making it challenging to read effectively in various contexts and sizes. This lack of adaptability hindered its application in areas such as advertising, merchandise, collaborations, and so on.
One issue that was noted was its outdated look in comparison to other contemporary gaming brands. They pointed out that ‘standing out among logos can be difficult, and the original design was becoming less competitive.’ The dissimilarity between the app icon, which emphasized the skull, only heightened the inconsistency.
How the new logo addresses these issues while keeping the legacy alive
Although some fans aren’t thrilled with the fresh logo, it has been crafted to address these issues without forsaking the heritage of Brawl Stars. The team explained, “We were careful not to make a change that would dismiss the legacy the old logo symbolized,” as this isn’t a rebranding but instead an enhancement.
During the design process, various iterations were evaluated, ranging from subtle modifications to drastic revisions. It was found that the new logo emerged as the top performer and garnered the most favorable responses from the testing user groups. In fact, some individuals believed it was already the official logo due to its strong correlation with the application’s logo.

After confirming the update, the team made minor modifications to the chosen design while preserving the essential identity of the logo, particularly the skull design, colors, and font style staying quite consistent. However, on a personal note, I prefer the original and current logo over this new one.
