Brawl Stars December 2025 Brawl Talk: New Brawlers, Buffies, Brawlers Rework

Pierce

Pierce is a powerful new Brawler! He joins the game as the final member of the Velocirapids group and is the first Brawler from the new Sea Monsters Aquarium area. What makes Pierce special is that his attack leaves a bullet casing behind each time he shoots. You reload by collecting these casings or when you run out of ammo.

Picking up shells will immediately fire a free, piercing shot at the closest enemy. Additionally, your final shot from the gun deals increased damage. His Super allows you to designate a target area, marking enemies who will then be pursued by homing bullets.

When Pierce hits enemies, he drops shells that you can collect to fire more shots. His special abilities, called Gadgets and Star Powers, can slow down opponents or help him take damage. Because Pierce is the first new Legendary Brawler released with the Brawler Release Event, some things about him might be adjusted in the future.

Glowbert

Glowbert is a new Brawler coming in January 2026. He’s a marine biologist who works at the Starr Park aquarium. Glowbert is a healer, and his special ability, Glowbeam, can either continuously restore health to teammates or inflict ongoing damage to opponents.

As long as you keep attacking, you’ll continue to deal damage or heal your teammates. The best part is, Glowbert’s Super ability shows his face, which frightens enemies and also damages them. Plus, his unique Gadgets and Star Powers make you an even better healer, allowing you to rescue allies from tough spots.

Buffies

Buffies are a brand new, lasting upgrade that boosts your Gadgets, Star Powers, and Hypercharges. With this update, each Brawler can equip up to 3 Buffies, and each one gives a different advantage.

Okay, so there are these things called Buffies, and they come in three different types: Gadget Buffies, Star Buffies, and Hyper Buffies. You can win them from the Claw Machine! If you want to know everything about them, I found a really detailed article that explains it all.

Brawler Reworks

As announced back in November, the Brawlers receiving buffs will also have some of their abilities adjusted. The development team is using this as an opportunity to improve Brawlers whose skills aren’t performing as intended.

Currently, six Brawlers – Shelly, Colt, Spike, Emz, Frank, and Mortis – are getting special perks called Buffies. The developers intend to eventually give Buffies to all Brawlers. I especially like that these Buffies appear with the Brawlers in matches, so you can see both your own and your opponents’ perks during a brawl.

Brawl Pass Updates

The long-awaited Brawl Pass update, first announced in November, is now here! While the price is increasing, the Pass itself is getting a significant upgrade to offer more value. The standard Pass will cost $8.99, and Pass Plus will be available for $12.99.

Vault

  • Resource Keys: You can unlock extra Coins, Power Points, or Bling.
  • Brawler Keys: You can unlock Brawlers, but you need different key amounts for different rarities.
  • Skin Keys: You can unlock the newest Brawl Pass skins or skins from previous Brawl Passes.
  • Buffie Keys: With these, you can unlock Buffies.

Chaos Drops

The Brawl Pass update includes a new type of Starr Drop called Chaos Drops. These are the strongest Starr Drops available, and come in different levels of rarity, ranging from Super Rare to Ultra Starr Drop.

What’s really neat is that this item can multiply up to eight times, and it doesn’t lose its value when it does! This means you could potentially get eight times the rewards from an Ultra Legendary Chaos Drop, which can include powerful items like Hypercharges, Mythic, Legendary, and Ultra Legendary Brawlers, as well as Epic, Mythic, and Hypercharged skins, and Buffies.

Hypercharges, Game Modes, Brawl Passes, skins, and more

Hypercharge

Gigi’s Pas De Deux Hypercharge lets her deal extra damage with her Super as soon as she uses it, not just when the Super ends.

New Game Modes

Safe Blast

Safe Blast is a new game mode where players collect and deliver bombs to destroy their opponent’s base.

Lovebombing

A new game mode called Lovebombing is coming soon! It’s similar to 2v2 Wipeout, but with a key difference: all your regular attacks can now stun enemies. You can also use the Lovebomb itself to instantly knock out the opposing team.

Two Player Bosses

In Two Player Bosses, you can team up with your friends and take on the formidable bosses together.

Steampunk Brawl Pass

Brawl Stars is introducing a Steampunk-themed collection of character skins. The main skin for the new Brawl Pass is Steampunk Stu, with Crime Lord Stu and Iced Out Stu as alternative colors. This season marks a change, as two Brawl Pass skins will be released each time. Steampunk Gale is the second skin, and players can also unlock Fancy Man Gale and Dapper Gale as color variations.

The series also features skins like Peaky Sam and Boss Brock, along with Clockwork Kaze – Kaze’s very first legendary skin.

Brawlentine Season

This Brawlentine Season, the game is releasing several new skins! Players can unlock Heartbroken, Break-Up, and Revenge Rico, with the Rico skins offering different color variations (Chromas). Alongside Rico, there’s also Brawlentine’s Angelo, and players can customize him with Adonis and Snatched Angelo as Chroma options.

And there are more, like Brawlentine’s Bear Shade, Love Potion Squeak, and Baddie Allie.

Seasonal Skins

Get ready for some exciting new skins! We’re releasing Snowglobe Nani for the Brawlidays event, Lunar Lotus Willow to celebrate the Lunar New Year, and World Champion Max, which is inspired by the World Finals.
