Brawl Stars December 2025 Brawl Talk: New Brawlers, Buffies, Brawlers Rework

Pierce

Pierce is the latest Brawler to join the game, as revealed in this Brawl Talk! He’s the final member of the Velocirapids team and the first Brawler from the new Sea Monsters Aquarium area. What makes Pierce special is that his main attack leaves a bullet shell behind. You reload by collecting these shells or when you run out of ammo.

Picking up shells now automatically fires a free shot at the closest enemy, and that shot can even go through walls and objects. Plus, when you fire the lost shot, it does extra damage. His Super lets you designate a target area, marking enemies so your following shots will home in on them.

Each time Pierce attacks, he drops a shell that you can collect to fire more shots. His special abilities, called Gadgets and Star Powers, can slow down opponents or help him take extra damage. Since Pierce is the first new Legendary Brawler released with the Brawler Release Event, some things about him might change in the future.

Glowbert

Glowbert is a new Brawler coming to the game in January 2026. He’s a marine biologist who works at the aquarium in Starr Park. Glowbert is a support character – he can use his Glowbeam to constantly heal allies, or he can turn it into a weapon to continuously damage opponents.

As long as you keep attacking, you’ll continue to deal damage or provide healing. The best part is Glowbert’s Super – he shows his face to frighten enemies and inflict damage! Plus, his Gadgets and Star Powers make you an even better healer, helping your teammates escape tough spots.

Buffies

Okay, so they’ve added something called ‘Buffies’ to the game, and I’m really excited! Basically, they’re permanent upgrades you can attach to your Gadgets, Starr Powers, and Hypercharges. Each Brawler can equip up to three of them, and they all do different things to help boost your gameplay. It’s like a new way to customize how I play each character!

Okay, so I’ve been collecting Buffies, and there are three different kinds! There are Gadget Buffies, Star Buffies, and Hyper Buffies. You can win them from the Claw Machine, and if you want to learn everything about them, I found a really detailed article that explains it all.

Brawler Reworks

So, they announced this back in November, but just wanted to give everyone a heads-up again: all the Brawlers getting a buff are also having some of their abilities changed up. Basically, the dev team is looking at which Brawlers aren’t playing as well as they should and giving their kits a bit of an overhaul. It’s nice to see them really trying to balance things out!

Currently, six Brawlers – Shelly, Colt, Spike, Emz, Frank, and Mortis – are getting special buffs. The developers intend to eventually give these buffs to all Brawlers. I really like that these buffs travel with the Brawlers into matches, so you can see both your own and your opponents’ buffs during a brawl.

Brawl Pass Updates

The long-awaited Brawl Pass update is here, first announced back in November. The price of the Pass is increasing, but it’s also getting a significant upgrade to offer more value. The standard Pass will now cost $8.99, and Pass Plus will be $12.99.

Vault

  • Resource Keys: You can unlock extra Coins, Power Points, or Bling.
  • Brawler Keys: You can unlock Brawlers, but you need different key amounts for different rarities.
  • Skin Keys: You can unlock the newest Brawl Pass skins or skins from previous Brawl Passes.
  • Buffie Keys: With these, you can unlock Buffies.

Chaos Drops

The Brawl Pass update includes a new type of Starr Drop called Chaos Drops, and these are the strongest Starr Drops available. They come in different levels of rarity, ranging from Super Rare to Ultra Starr Drop.

What’s really neat is that this item can divide up to eight times, and it doesn’t lose its value each time it splits. This means you could potentially get eight of the rarest items – Ultra Legendary Chaos Drops – which can include powerful Brawlers, unique skins, and special boosts like Hypercharges and Buffies.

Hypercharges, Game Modes, and more

Hypercharge

Gigi’s Pas De Deux Hypercharge lets her deal extra damage with her Super as soon as she uses it, not just when the Super ends.

New Game Modes

Safe Blast

Safe Blast is a new game mode where players collect and deliver bombs to destroy their opponent’s base.

Lovebombing

Lovebombing is a new 2v2 game mode similar to Wipeout, but with a special feature. In this mode, all your regular attacks can briefly stun enemies, and you can use the ‘Lovebomb’ to instantly knock opponents out of the game.

Two Player Bosses

In Two Player Bosses, you can team up with your friends and take on the bosses together.

Steampunk Brawl Pass

Brawl Stars is releasing a new Steampunk collection of character skins! Stu is getting a special Brawl Pass skin called Steampunk Stu, and players can also unlock Crime Lord Stu and Iced Out Stu as alternate color variations.
