This month’s Brawl Stars Brawl Talk revealed more details about the upcoming updates, including the new power-ups called Buffies, and the new Brawlers, Pierce and Glowbert. We had some early information, but now we know a lot more about how each Brawler will interact with the Buffies and how they function. Let’s get straight to the details!
Brawl Stars Buffies Explained – Brawl Talk December 2025
Supercell just revealed a major update for Brawl Stars with a new Brawl Talk focusing on ‘Buffies’ – they’re calling it the game’s biggest update yet! So, what are these Buffies?
In Brawl Stars, Buffies are special boosts that temporarily increase a brawler’s strength and skills. They can improve things like…
- Gadgets
- Star Powers
- Hypercharges
Finding a Gadget Buffie enhances both Gadgets and Star Powers. Plus, each Hyper Buffie adds two seconds to how long a Brawler’s Hypercharge lasts.
To begin collecting Buffies, you’ll need to earn 1,000 trophies. While your first Buffie is free, any additional Buffies you acquire will require a purchase.
- Gems for specific Buffies
- Power Points AND Coins for random Buffies
Brawler Reworks
The new update brings significant changes, including improvements to several Brawlers. A key update allows Brawlers with Buffies to aim their gadgets, giving players more control and strategic options. Previously, gadgets were activated with a simple tap, but now you can aim them for greater precision. This applies to gadgets like Mortis’ Combo Spinner and EMZ’s Friendzoner. Here are some other major updates:
- Colt’s Speedloader Gadget now shoots two quick shots that slow targets when hit
- Spike’s Popping Pincushion now fires two waves of needles (formerly 3)
- Spike’s Life Plant Gadget can now be thrown
- Mortis’ Survival Shovel Gadget has been changed to Creature of the Night
- New Gadget now transforms Mortis into a bat and travel to a target location
- Frank’s Active Noise Cancelling adds an aimable gadget soundwave along with immunity to crowd control
- Frank’s Irresistible Attraction Gadget no longer deals extra damage but you can now aim it with a further reaching pull
- EMZ’s Acid Spray Gadget lets her aim a spray through walls now
With the introduction of Buffies, we’re removing Epic and Mythic Gears. Players who bought these Gears will be fully refunded.
Brawl Pass Changes, Brawl Pass Vaults & More
Supercell is updating the Brawl Pass with new features. They’re adding “Brawl Pass Vaults,” which give you 10 extra rewards to aim for. You’ll use Brawl Keys to unlock these vaults and choose the rewards you like best – there are different keys for things like resources and character skins.
These keys can help you unlock characters like Brawlers and Buffies, as well as other exciting content, so be sure to watch for them!
Okay, so the price for the new Brawl Pass and Brawl Pass Plus is going up. Honestly, if you’re trying to save some cash, you could actually buy the next eight passes right now, before the price increase hits. It’s a bit of a weird option, but it could save me some gems in the long run!
The new Brawl Pass now includes cosmetic items like Skins, Chromas, and Titles. Plus, the developers have added new Chaos Drops, which were recently announced.
After finishing a Brawl Pass, you’ll get a final reward, now chosen at random instead of being a fixed Starr Drop. Plus, you can use Gems to upgrade these rewards, and those upgrades could include Vault Keys.
Chaos Drops
Brawl Stars is introducing a new kind of reward called Chaos Drops! Unlike other drops, these start at the Super Rare level and can even be Ultra. What’s really exciting is they can multiply – a single drop could split into two, four, or even eight! That means you might get incredibly lucky and receive up to eight Ultra Chaos Drops at once.
Ultra Chaos Drops can give you quality rewards like Hypercharges, Brawlers, Skins, and Buffies.

Two new Brawlers are coming to Brawl Stars
Brawl Stars is getting a new Legendary Brawler named Pierce! He’s a sniper who reloads in a unique way – only when he picks up his empty shell casings or fires all his bullets. Luckily, his final shot always does extra damage.
His primary ability launches a long-distance shot. If it hits, it places a shell near Pierce. When Pierce gets a shell, he instantly fires a powerful, penetrating shot at the closest enemy he can see.
His Super lets him designate a target area before firing a powerful, penetrating shot at all brawlers within it. Each hit leaves behind a shell that also pierces through enemies. For Gadgets, he has two options: Bottomless Mags, which reloads his ammo and drops a shell, or You Only Brawl Twice, which lets him absorb shells to create a shield and knock back opponents.
Finally, Pierce’s Star Powers give him unique abilities: either his final bullet slows down opponents (in the ‘Mission: Swimpossible’ mode), or he gets a speed boost when collecting a Shell (in ‘Slip n’ Snipe’).
Furthermore, a new Mythic Brawler, Glowbert, is also on the way. This brawler possesses a unique attack that lets him tether a beam to a friend or foe. If it touches a friend, it heals them. But if it’s an enemy, it’ll deal continuous damage
And while not a new brawler, Gigi will be receiving a new Hypercharge.
Miscelleanous Changes
Here’s a key update from the latest Brawl Talk: all Brawlers will get a health increase. This is designed to balance out the new Buffies and other changes being introduced to the game.
Supercell is also working to improve the game’s economy. This will involve better rewards on the Trophy Road, including more frequent Chaos Drops, increased numbers of Mega Quests each season, and improved prizes from community events.
Finally, a new Fame Level called “Starr Force” has been added. It costs 75,000 Credits to unlock and comes with a unique battle card, icon, and pin. Plus, Gems and Power Points are now more affordable, so they’re easier to get.
In short, the recent Brawl Stars announcement covered a lot – including improvements to existing characters, new playable characters, and other updates. We’re excited to see how these changes affect gameplay.
