Brawl Stars Berry Guide: Attacks, Star Power, Gadgets, Gears and more

In the July 2024 Brawl Talk, Berry, a fresh face in Brawl Stars, was introduced. He’s just started making an appearance. The description goes: “Working at Mandy’s Candy Shop, what could go wrong? EVERYTHING! Despite his dislike for the job, you might occasionally see a fleeting smile on Berry at the end of his shift.” This guide aims to help players master Berry in Brawl Stars, offering advice on his attacks, super, star power, gadgets, and the optimal gear choices for different scenarios.

New Brawler: Berry

Berry is categorized as a rare character, specifically an Epic Brawler. Players can purchase him for approximately $16 USD from the shop. The package also includes Berry, 8 Berry Pins, 5000 Coins, 80 Gems, 1 Spray, and the Dark Horse Berry skin.

  • Rarity: Epic
  • Class: Support
  • Health at lvl 11: 5000
  • Damage at lvl 11: 1320

Brawl Stars Berry Guide: Attacks

Berry’s Attack: Meltdown

Berry’s standard attack is named “Meltdown”. By throwing an ice cream cone over walls, it causes harm and leaves a pool of melted ice cream on impact for six seconds, further damaging any enemies who get splashed or are within the Area of Effect range.

Similar to how Barley’s bottles gradually harm opponents, Berry’s ice creams inflict continuous damage as well. However, a crucial distinction lies in the fact that Berry’s ice-cream puddles don’t accumulate damage like Barley’s bottles do when you quickly throw multiple ones. Instead, each Berry ice-cream puddle only deals one instance of damage.

One of Berry’s unique features is that his attacks not only harm opponents but also restore health for him and his teammates when they are on the attack site. The healing power is roughly equivalent to half of the damage inflicted on enemies by Berry’s Meltdown attacks.

Berry’s Super: Sweet Swirl

With the Sweet Spin, Berry whirls ahead, inflicting substantial damage on enemies struck and restoring health to nearby allies at the same time. In addition, this special move leaves trails of ice cream puddles along its trajectory, which behave similarly to his standard Meltdown attacks. However, Sweet Spin cannot be utilized for dashing over obstacles such as walls or water. If Berry is affected by a stun or knockback during the Super’s animation, the effect will be nullified.

Tips for using Berry’s Super

  • Never use it near walls and water: Sweet Swirl cannot help Berry crash through walls or water, so it is best to avoid being near one when using it.
  • Aim a little bit towards either side of the enemy: Berry’s Super spreads his ice-cream puddles in a straight line. During a fight, it is better to aim slightly towards either side of the enemy because this way even if they try to run, they will find themselves in the puddle’s radius due to its hitbox.

Brawl Stars Berry Guide: Berry’s Skills

Gadgets

Friendship Is Great

With this device, Berry flickingly sweeps his tail, defeating adversaries at the same time as restoring 1000 points of health to his nearby companions. Combining this gadget with Barley’s Super can be incredibly effective during combat.

Healthy Additives

Using this device causes Berry’s next ground attack to remain active for 12 full seconds. When activated, a symbol representing the gadget will light up above Berry and a radiant attack control pad will appear, indicating that the gadget is now in use. Following the use of the attack, Healthy Additives will need some time to recharge.

Star Power

Floor Is Fine

With this “Star Power”, Berry boosts his reload speed by an impressive 50% whenever he’s on his melted ice cream. This speed advantage makes it a preferred choice in game modes such as Showdown, as it significantly enhances his combat efficiency.

Making A Mess

With this Star Ability, Berry’s primary attack deals an additional 20% damage when he paints an unpainted region. In regions devoid of Berry’s ice cream puddles, his initial strike with the primary attack becomes more potent due to the Star Power.

Best Game Modes for Berry

Best Brawler Combination with Berry

To offset Berry’s strong damage and constant healing, he has a slower reload rate. However, this doesn’t diminish his worth as a top-tier Brawler, particularly when equipped with the Floor Is Fine star power. To make the most of his abilities, it is advisable to team him up with a tank such as Draco or Frank.

As a fan, I can say that Berry, like Dynamike and Barry, has an area-of-effect (AoE) attack. Yet, he can still team up effectively with another thrower, such as Juju. Interestingly, Berry also complements Meeple’s crowd control skills quite well. Moreover, Spike makes a formidable duo when it comes to pressuring enemies together with Berry’s primary attack.

Best Gears for Berry in Brawl Stars

Shield Gear

The item named Shield Gear temporarily boosts Berry’s health by an additional 900 points, functioning as a temporary consumable protective barrier. This shield recharges and becomes available again after 10 seconds, provided that Berry is already at full health. This gear significantly enhances Berry’s ability to withstand damage, offering significant survivability benefits.

Damage Gear

In a pinch, when Berry’s health drops below 50%, his special gear will boost his attacking power by an additional 15%. This is particularly useful during intense scenarios where you’re low on health but still need to defeat your opponent.

Gadget Charge Gear

Boosting the charge on Berry’s devices elevates their power level by one unit, granting him an extra utilization opportunity. Coupled with the gadget Friendship Is Great, this equipment proves to be an ideal fit for Berry.
