Collaborative partners Brain Dead and adidas have announced the launch date for their Brain Dead x adidas Japan Lo, which is a fun twist on the 1964 design. This unique interpretation of the shoe was previously hinted at during an exhibit in Paris back in May.

First introduced to align with the Tokyo Olympics in ’64, this special model has since become a cherished lifestyle design due to its timeless aesthetic following its re-release in ’24. Recently spotted in Paris alongside fresh Brain Dead creations such as the Barricade 13, Taekwondo, and Climacool 2, the distinctive Japan Lo model caught attention with its shaggy suede texture and retro flaming accents.

The updated version of this model will be available in two color schemes: one featuring shades of brown, olive, and yellow, along with another option in black, white, and blue. Notable design elements include flame-shaped overlays made from hairy suede with striking outlines, distinctive hairy laces, and a suede pull tab at the heel. The collar boasts contrast leather for a touch of sophistication within the retro design. Lastly, a slim off-white sole reflects the current trend towards flat-soled footwear.

The newest collaboration between Brain Dead and adidas expands their collection of attention-grabbing designs, such as the Stan Smith, Forest Hills model, and the exclusive Bowling Shoe available at Dover Street Market. At present, the other anticipated Brain Dead x adidas models, hinted at last spring, do not yet have a confirmed release date.
