Brad Pitt’s ‘John Wick’-esque Action Movie ‘Bullet Train’ Is Streaming for Free on Tubi in April 2026

A highly-rated action film from recent years is becoming available to stream without a subscription. David Leitch, who previously co-directed John Wick and worked as a stunt performer, has become a successful action director. While films like his 2016 hit Atomic Blonde and the fun, though not particularly memorable, Fall Guy starring Ryan Gosling were well-received, his 2022 collaboration with Brad Pitt was his most ambitious project yet, and it’s soon coming to a free streaming service.

Action fans will have plenty to watch on Tubi in April 2026! Along with favorites like Dredd, Man on Fire, The Rock, and North by Northwest, David Leitch’s Bullet Train will be available to stream for free starting April 1st. The film stars Brad Pitt as Ladybug, an assassin hoping for a quiet life who gets pulled into one last dangerous mission: stealing a briefcase while riding a Japanese bullet train. He quickly finds himself surrounded by a team of equally deadly assassins, portrayed by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Hiroyuki Sanada, Bad Bunny, Karen Fukuhara, and Zazie Beetz, and things don’t go as planned.

Sony’s Bullet Train did well in theaters, earning $239 million globally on a $90 million budget. It’s remained popular since then, frequently appearing on streaming platforms like Tubi and Pluto TV. Despite its success, a sequel hasn’t been announced yet.

Critics Didn’t Know What to Make of ‘Bullet Train’

The 2022 film Bullet Train received very mixed reviews from critics. Some found it to be a weak action movie that depended too much on its impressive fight choreography, while others enjoyed it as a lighthearted action comedy, especially considering it came from one of the directors of John Wick. This division is reflected in its Rotten Tomatoes score of 53%.

The action in Bullet Train is similar to what made John Wick so exciting, with the 87Eleven team delivering some of their most impressive fight choreography, especially reminiscent of Jackie Chan’s style. The movie’s dialogue also has a similar snappy, clever feel to films like Guy Ritchie’s Snatch and The Gentlemen.

What’s Going On With ‘Bullet Train 2’?

While the first Bullet Train did well in theaters and continues to gain fans on streaming, a sequel isn’t guaranteed. A report last year suggested Bullet Train 2 was being planned with Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie, but the source was unnamed “Hollywood Insiders,” so it’s probably not true.

As of right now, a sequel to Bullet Train is just speculation. Director David Leitch has eight other projects in the works, including Oceans 14, Gears of War, and a new movie with Jason Statham. However, Bullet Train 2 isn’t among them, and even if it were, it likely won’t happen for a while.
