Brad Pitt’s F1 lauded as ‘so freaking good’ and the ‘Top Gun for racing fans’ in first reactions as critics declare the ‘epic’ film an ‘old school summer blockbuster’

The eagerly awaited film by Brad Pitt, titled F1, is being praised as a grand spectacle and a classic summer blockbuster in the initial reviews prior to its scheduled release on June 27th.

In this sports drama, the 61-year-old Oscar winner takes on the role of Sonny Hayes, an aging race car driver. He joins a struggling racing team and competes once again, this time alongside newcomer and rival Joshua Pearce, portrayed by Damson Idris.

As I eagerly await the official reviews, my social media feeds are brimming with initial thoughts and opinions about X from various critics scattered nationwide.

Audience members frequently commended the strong on-screen connection between Brad and his fellow actor Damson, as well as appreciating the overall aesthetic of the film, which can be attributed to director Joseph Kosinski, who recently worked on Top Gun: Maverick. Three years following the blockbuster success of Tom Cruise’s aviation film, which grossed a staggering $1.496 billion globally, some have dubbed F1 as the “Top Gun for racing enthusiasts.

In simpler terms, according to Erik David from Rotten Tomatoes, the movie #F1TheMovie accelerates quickly and never slows down. The races are spectacular, the sound effects, editing, camera work, acting, and music are all excellent quality.

He commented, “‘There’s a hint of TOP GUN MAVERICK in the sense that it has the vibe of a classic summer blockbuster from years past. What a thrilling experience!’

As an ardent movie enthusiast, let me tell you, the upcoming #F1TheMovie is nothing short of mind-blowing! It’s not just cool and entertaining, but it’s also deeply soulful in a way that will leave you spellbound. Kosinski has masterfully crafted an eye-catching, pulse-pounding pop epic that resonates on such a deep level. I can’t wait to see it again!

Elsewhere, Mike Ryan from IndieWire quipped humorously: “Apparently, Formula One isn’t about a tiny twister – it’s about racing cars. But boy, was it an enjoyable ride!

Variety’s Jazz Tancay exclaimed: ‘Wow! This action-packed, thrilling film about Formula One racing is fantastic, filled with toughness. The sound, music, and cinematography are impeccable. Damson Idris and Brad Pitt deliver exceptional performances! I can’t get enough of it!’

As a devoted admirer, I couldn’t help but express my enthusiasm: “#F1TheMovie is absolutely phenomenal! It delivers the perfect blend of exhilaration, emotion, rhythm, plot, and character development that elevates this film to greatness. If I were a fan of Formula One racing, I can only imagine how much more captivated I’d be! Perhaps my newfound fascination lies ahead?

For several years, the film has been shot at diverse Formula One races worldwide, with Tommy Hilfiger serving as its lifestyle sponsor and Lewis Hamilton playing a role in production.

In the trailer, Brad’s character showcases a confident demeanor and a compulsive habit of gambling, coupled with a strong desire for fast-paced action on the racetrack.

However, Javier Bardem encourages him to strive for greatness worldwide and suggests partnering with an inexperienced yet promising racer who’s full of talent.

Additionally, there’s a hint of romance. In the scene, Brad is captured locking lips with his co-star, the 42-year-old Irish actress Kerry Condon, with great enthusiasm.

Enthusiasts couldn’t contain their excitement after watching the trailer, expressing their sentiments on the Formula One Instagram page. They described the video as sending “shivers down their spines” and deemed it “amazing,” with one user exclaiming, “It’s time to compete!

After a long period of keeping quiet, Brad finally spoke up about the difficult, eight-year legal battle over his divorce from Angelina Jolie, which was officially finalized in December following her initial filing in 2016.

As a lifestyle expert, I might say: “I didn’t see the actor expressing frustration, but rather attempting to play down the highly publicized legal boxing match that’s been capturing everyone’s attention for nearly a decade.

His comments were made in the June issue of GQ magazine as he promoted F1.

He said finally seeing the end of their battle was not ‘major.’

Pitt responded by saying, “I wouldn’t call it a big deal, really. It’s just reaching its conclusion in a legal sense.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who are parents to six kids – Maddox (aged 23), Pax (21), Zahara (20), Shiloh (19), Knox (16), and Vivienne (also 16) – got married in the year 2014. They first encountered each other while working on the film Mr. & Mrs. Smith.

He did acknowledge his love life is ‘always in the news.’

For three decades, this topic has been a recurring subject in media outlets, and I’ve found myself deeply connected to it, so I might as well say that it’s a part of my own narrative, when speaking with GQ.

Currently, he resides in his Los Angeles residence together with his 32-year-old companion, Ines de Ramon, who works in the jewelry industry.

Daniel Riley, a writer for GQ, questioned whether his first-time appearance on the red carpet at the 2024 British Grand Prix with Ines was intended to generate public interest in Formula One (F1).

‘No, dude, it’s not that calculated,’ Pitt  laugh.

Living, good heavens, wouldn’t that be draining if one constantly had to make such calculations? But no, life doesn’t work that way; it simply unfolds. Connections between people also don’t require constant calculation – they grow and change over time.

When a writer for GQ questioned whether creating Formula 1 served as an escape from the limelight, he replied, “I wouldn’t necessarily view it like that.

He mentioned that dealing with fame, which comes in varying intensities, has consistently been a bothersome aspect for him as he pursues his desired activities.

To be completely honest, it has often felt like an unrelenting drain on my time – a seemingly endless pit, if left unchecked. Yet, I can’t quite put my finger on why it feels that way. Perhaps because it’s so captivating?

‘Mostly I feel pretty…. My life is fairly contained,’ added the ex-husband of Jennifer Aniston.

It’s quite comforting and safe among my friends, family, and loved ones, and with the understanding of myself. It’s similar to a small fly circling yet providing a sense of reassurance.

He also told GQ that the movie made him happy to be a Hollywood actor.

Have you ever found yourself pondering: Am I still brimming with tales to share? Is there fresh perspective I can bring to this? Is there a spark of enthusiasm left that I can rekindle within this experience once more? It’s as if this thought has breathed new life into the entire situation for me.

F1 is released in cinemas June 27 .
