Brad Pitt’s Adventures of Cliff Booth Sequel Sets Release Window

The upcoming Brad Pitt movie has received a positive update. While the original director is no longer involved, David Fincher will now direct the film.

According to reports, a sequel to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, titled The Adventures of Cliff Booth, is currently aiming for a summer 2026 release. While David Fincher is directing, Quentin Tarantino wrote the screenplay. However, Tarantino, who had originally planned to make ten films before retiring, didn’t want this sequel to be his last project.

Production on the new comedy drama began in late July. Filming is still ongoing, with an expected completion date in mid-January. Despite this, the filmmakers are aiming for a summer release, potentially with a larger promotional push from Netflix for The Adventures of Cliff Booth.

Netflix used to be firm about releasing its shows and movies only on its platform, but that’s changing now that they’re creating more critically acclaimed content. This fall, Netflix released several films in theaters for a limited time, including Wake Up Dead Man, the newest Knives Out movie, George Clooney’s Jay Kelly, and Kathryn Bigelow’s A House of Dynamite.

Next year, Netflix plans to release Greta Gerwig’s reimagining of Narnia in IMAX theaters for two weeks before it becomes available for streaming. They’re currently aiming for a summer 2026 theatrical release for Brad Pitt’s upcoming sequel, though those plans aren’t confirmed and details will be announced later. Narnia is expected in theaters in November 2026.
