Brad Pitt and George Clooney are ‘coming back’ to reprise roles as master thieves in Ocean’s 14… 17 years after starring in Ocean’s Thirteen
As a devoted fan of Hollywood’s Golden Age, I can hardly contain my excitement at the prospect of another Ocean’s Eleven franchise film – Ocean’s 14. The chemistry between Brad Pitt and George Clooney is undeniable, and their on-screen camaraderie is something that has been sorely missed in recent years.
It appears that Brad Pitt and George Clooney are set to return to their characters for the upcoming Ocean’s Eleven sequel, titled Ocean’s 14.
In addition to their recent work on the thriller-comedy “Wolfs,” these actors and long-standing friends have previously appeared together in a 2007 crime comedy titled “Ocean’s Thirteen.”
According to a recent article published by Deadline on Thursday, it seems they might team up for another film project 17 years since the launch of their last movie.
According to the latest reports, Pitt and Clooney, both in their mid-sixties, are actively seeking to convince director Edward Berger to take up the role for their upcoming film project. This comes after Pitt made his relationship with Ines de Ramon official at Venice last weekend, amidst his ongoing divorce proceedings with Angelina Jolie.
Despite the project still being at its initial phase with no definitive decisions made, Deadline proposes a possibility that other franchise stars such as Matt Damon, Julia Roberts, and Casey Affleck might rejoin Brad Pitt and George Clooney in the upcoming production.
Approximately a year ago, Clooney disclosed details about the future of the franchise when he discussed a screenplay being worked on for an upcoming film.
Now, it is rumored that Clooney and Pitt are in the process of courting Berger to helm Ocean’s 14.
Berger is a rising talent in the world of filmmaking, having successfully directed the 2022 four-time Academy Award-winning war action film titled “All Quiet on the Western Front.”
It appears that Warner Bros and Smokehouse are said to be putting a lot of effort into creating the next installment of the franchise, marking the first time it will be made without director Steven Soderbergh.
In December 2023, Clooney told Uproxx that the upcoming movie had a strong script.
He teased that it might not be an exact continuation of the previous movies in the franchise and compared the script to the 1979 movie Going In Style.
He mentioned that they have an outstanding script for another Ocean’s film, which might lead to another production. He emphasized that the script is exceptional.
Additionally, he responded to whispers about the potential casting of Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling in the prequel film, where they are slated to portray his characters’ parents, Danny Ocean.
On the casting, Clooney previously stated: ‘Margot Robbie’s my mother? I’ve always thought that.’
He told Variety: ‘And Ryan Gosling is my father, and when you think about it, it makes sense. Truly.’
2018 saw the release of the eighth installment in the Ocean’s series, titled “Ocean’s 8”, where Sandra Bullock stepped into the role of Danny Ocean’s sibling.
In the 2001 movie Ocean’s 11, George Clooney played the character Danny Ocean, while Brad Pitt took on the role of Rusty Ryan. They reprised their roles in the 2004 sequel, Ocean’s Twelve.
Their third and latest movie in the franchise, Ocean’s Thirteen, was released back in 2007.
