On Tuesday, Phoebe Tonkin left her fans taken aback when she disclosed that she is now engaged to her clandestine partner, Bernard Lagrange.
35-year-old actor from ‘The Boy Swallows Universe‘ announced his engagement on Instagram, posting a collection of affectionate pictures with his partner.
In a single snapshot, Phoebe was seen donning a pristine white gown while seated comfortably on Bernard’s lap. With affectionate embraces, they exchanged a tender kiss.
Her stunning oval diamond engagement ring was on full display during the intimate moment.
Additionally, Phoebe shared another snapshot, capturing a tender moment where she softly caressed Bernard’s cheek inside a vehicle, showcasing her freshly acquired ring.
She titled her summer-of-love film photos, “First picture taken by my buddy Mark_Bauch,” was her caption for the images.
Her fans took to the comments to express their shock, with one writing: ‘Are you engaged? WHAT!’
A second person remarked, ‘That’s quite an unprecedented launch!’ Another exclaimed, ‘Is that an engagement ring?!’
Little is known about Bernard, but he is believed to be an art dealer.
Prior to her romance with Bernard, Phoebe was linked to American rocker, Alex Greenwald.
In the year 2020, she made it public that they were in a relationship through an Instagram post, which showed them locking lips while both wore protective masks.
It’s unclear when the relationship ended.
Phoebe also previously dated Paul Wesley but they split in 2017 after four years together.
In an interview with InStyle Australia magazine back in 2019, the actress shared insights on moving past her split with her Vampire Diaries fellow actor.
Phoebe shared that she made up her mind to step into the world behind the camera and, for the first time, directed a short movie titled Furlough.
‘There’s a lot of change, but it’s good change,’ she told the publication.
She explained, “Last year, I went through a breakup, and ever since then, I’ve been eager to try new experiences. Furlough presented itself as the ideal moment for me to embark on these adventures.
Phoebe said director Mark Webber and his actor wife Teresa Palmer inspired her to work.
