Born to be wild! Meet the nepo babies dominating the party scene as Blur’s Alex James, 57, admits he can longer keep up with his children’s wild ways

During the peak of the Britpop scene, Blur’s bassist, Alex James, lived a famously unrestrained lifestyle filled with the usual rockstar excesses.

For many young people growing up in the 90s, bands like Blur, Oasis, Suede, and Pulp defined the sound of the decade.

They became well-known at the same time as a group of celebrities living near Primrose Hill in North London – a group nicknamed ‘The Primrose Hill set’ because of their wild parties and carefree lifestyle.

The original group – featuring stars like Kate Moss, Jude Law, the Gallagher brothers, and Gwyneth Paltrow – is now being replaced by their children, who are also finding success in the industry.

Alex recently confessed he’s struggling to manage the busy social lives of his five children and their constant parties.

He’s the father of five children: 21-year-old Geronimo, 19-year-old twins Artemis and Galileo, 17-year-old Sable, and 15-year-old Beatrix. He jokingly admitted his kids go out and have more fun now than he does.

It feels like every trendy party these days includes famous offspring – you’re sure to spot people like Lila Moss, the children of Liam Gallagher, or Iris Law on the guest list, as ‘nepo babies’ become increasingly prominent in the social scene.

Lila Moss

Following in her mother’s footsteps, 23-year-old Lila Moss is building a career as a fashion model. She made her first appearance on the runway for Victoria’s Secret in 2024.

The celebrity child is also known for enjoying a vibrant social life, frequently attending glamorous parties with friends.

Last September, she turned 23 and celebrated her birthday in Paris with friends like Iris Law and the rapper Central Cee.

Kate’s daughter looked effortlessly stylish in a completely black outfit, pairing sleek pants with a leather shoulder bag.

The model kept her look simple with a thin black belt and matching boots as she left Le Costes.

Lila explained that her mother discouraged her from pursuing modeling. ‘She’d always say, ‘It’s up to you, but I don’t think it’s a good idea,’ Lila recalled.

Iris Law

Usually never far from Lila’s side is fellow nepo baby star Iris Law.

I always get so excited when I see them together at events! They were both at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show last October, and it was amazing to see them there.

Iris Law, the 25-year-old daughter of Jude Law and Sadie Frost, included Lila in a recent Instagram post highlighting their exciting, glamorous travels and social life together.

Iris is known for enjoying a night out, and last September she turned heads at the Vogue party in London. She wore a revealing white dress with a strapless, asymmetrical design and cut-out details at the trendy new restaurant, Carbone.

Just two days before, she was spotted leaving Chiltern Firehouse after a night out with Central Cee, who sources say she’s dating.

In 2024, she partied with a group of celebrities known for their famous parents at a London Fashion Week event hosted by Charli XCX and H&M.

Despite a long and public disagreement between their fathers, Liam and Noel, the children seem to have a close friendship.

In an interview on the Australian show Sunrise, the Oasis singer admitted he had no grounds to object and allowed others to proceed as they wished, telling them to ‘do what you want.’

I can try to tell people not to behave badly, but they just don’t seem to care. For example, if I say ‘Don’t treat girls poorly,’ they just shrug it off.

If our kids ever face difficulties, they can rely on the fact that their dad has real-life experience to help them. I’m not just someone who sits behind a desk; I’ve been through things myself.
