Verdict on Borley Rectory: The Awakening

Recap

This film centers on a family of siblings who attempt to discover what’s causing a series of frightening events in their large house. Their search leads them to explore the home’s past, and they race against time to prevent the haunting from worsening and endangering their family.

Best Parts

What’s truly captivating about this haunting isn’t just the scares themselves, but the larger mystery at its core. The actors deliver compelling performances, and the family portrayed feels realistically close-knit. The film also showcases a well-thought-out approach to handling hauntings, especially considering the time period it’s set in.

Worst Parts

When it comes to scary parts, the movie sometimes tries to do too much at once. This means the truly frightening moments don’t have enough time to really become suspenseful and impactful.

Final ThoughtsBorley Rectory: The Awakening has a strong story behind the horrors.
