Bono Breaks Silence on Romance Rumors with The Edge and Wife Ali: Shocking Confessions!
Did Bono’s wife Ali Hewson and his U2 bandmate The Edge get together?
65-year-old musician, known as Bono (born Paul David Hewson), recently chatted with The Project about his forthcoming documentary, “Bono: Tales from the Stage,” which offers insights into his life as the lead vocalist of U2.
In the movie, the lead singer of With or Without You proposed an intriguing idea: that his long-term spouse, whom he had been married to for 42 years, and their close friend, David Howell Evans (also known as The Edge), had a romantic relationship.
In our recent heart-to-heart conversation, I shared that the ongoing speculation about our bond remains a tender topic for me. I proceeded to recount the deep connection we’ve built and nurtured throughout the years.
He mentioned that Ali and David, who were a year younger than Bono at the same high school, were the most intelligent of their respective years.

Ali appeared quite engaged in David’s guitar skills, and no matter how much I practice, I could sense that I wasn’t at his level, David being the lead guitarist of U2, he noted.
He shared that he needed to take on the role of the class jester, implying that he captured his partner’s heart through his humor.
Bono stated that his wife and bandmate remain close friends even today, often sharing stories or talking about him behind his back.
‘They’re still really close – and they still talk about me behind my back‘ he said.
‘They say it’s out of concern,’ Bono added with a chuckle.
Afterward, the musician disclosed that there are specific individuals who he doesn’t have to concern himself with in his life as they are consistently reliable and always available to him.
‘Edge is one, Ali is another,’ he said of his best mate and wife.
Bono lauded his wife Ali, who has backed his music career since he turned 15, and credits her for the musical accomplishments he’s achieved today.

He confessed that without his U2 bandmates, Edge, Adam, and Larry, he feels like he’m only 25% of an artist.
‘And I’m half of a person without Ali,’ he sweetly added.
Bono and Ali got hitched back in 1982, and together they’ve been blessed with four wonderful kids: Jordan (age 36), Eve (33), Elijah (25), and John (22).
At the 78th Cannes Film Festival, Bono arrived with a luminous demeanor, beaming with pride as he struck poses for the cameras during the premiere of his latest documentary, Bono: Tales of Submission.
The freshly released Apple documentary featuring Bono offers a glimpse behind the scenes into his personal life, as well as the influential roles played by his loved ones, spiritual beliefs, and other sustaining factors in his journey.
This legendary musician shares intimate tales about his life’s path, encompassing experiences as a child, parent, spouse, advocate, and above all, a rock ‘n’ roll performer.
During the premiere at Cannes on Friday evening, Bono, the lead singer of U2, was honored with a significant milestone: the film was met with an extended seven-minute standing ovation.
Bono: Stories of Surrender will be available to watch on Apple TV+ on May 30.
