As a dedicated gamer, I’ve been keeping an eye on this YouTuber who’s made quite a stir with his prediction about when Mega Mewtwo might make its debut in Pokémon GO. His reasoning seems solid, and

Every year, the Pokémon GO Tour events debut something new into the game as a “centre piece.” The Unova Tour debuted Black and White Kyurem. The previous years Sinnoh Tour was the debut for Origin forme Dialga and Palkia.

In the realm of Kalos, YouTuber RaidenRadio highlights that Niantic faces quite limited choices due to the introduction of fewer Pokémon compared to other regions. However, what sets Kalos apart is its groundbreaking debut of Mega Evolutions.

One of the ways to look at what might be coming in a future Pokémon GO event is to see what exists in that region that has not yet debuted into Pokémon GO. For instance, Ultra Necrozma currently seems a good bet for the Alola Tour, due in 2027.

In Kalos, there are very few options. Xerneas and Yveltal have released, and there are no special forms or fusions to debut into the game. However, with the Kalos region being focused on Mega Evolution, we do have some unreleased Mega Pokémon waiting to arrive into the game.

  • Mega Metagross
  • Mega Sharpedo
  • Mega Mewtwo X
  • Mega Mewtwo Y

Some of these will release between now and the Kalos Tour. For instance, Mega Audino was teased in the Might & Mastery trailer so seems to be coming soon.

Given the list you’ve provided, it appears extremely probable that Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y will serve as the main attraction during the Pokémon GO Kalos Tour. These powerful Pokémon have sparked a great deal of excitement among fans due to their highly anticipated debut.

The act of freeing them would greatly motivate people to participate in the Kalos Tour, and it seems comparable to the excitement generated by past year’s debut events.

Could they debut before then?

It would be a huge shock if Mega Mewtwo debuted into the game outside of one of the major events. At the moment, we only have initial details about 2025’s Pokémon GO Fest events. It is then also expected that there will be a GO Wild Area event in the Autumn.

If Mega Mewtwo doesn’t make its debut at either of these events as suggested by RaidenRaidio, then his prediction would appear to be spot-on. Given that it seems unlikely they would introduce Mega Mewtwo through a standard Raid Day event.

At Pokémon GO Fest 2023, I was thrilled to see Mega Rayquaza make its grand entrance! Not only that, but Primal Groudon and Kyogre also made their debut during the Hoenn Tour. What a fantastic experience it was to witness these powerful Mega Pokémon in action!
