Bobby Moynihan gushes about Jedi Bob in LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy

As a huge LEGO and Star Wars fan, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming miniseries, LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy. And what makes it even more special is the fact that Bobby Moynihan, the voice of Jedi Bobarian Afol, shared some behind-the-scenes insights at San Diego Comic-Con 2024.

The upcoming LEGO Star Wars special, titled “LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy“, is approaching quickly, and actor Bobby Moynihan, who voices Jedi Bob in the series, is eager to give fans a sneak peek. During San Diego Comic-Con 2024, Moynihan shared insights about his character, the inspiration behind its name, and other intriguing details.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Moynihan revealed, “My complete name is Jedi Master Bobarian Afol.” He went on to describe the significance behind his name. “Few may be aware, but ‘Afol’ is a nod to A.F.O.L., which stands for Adult Fans of LEGO. This is the term used for dedicated LEGO enthusiasts within the LEGO community.”

As a star-struck fan, I can barely contain my excitement when Moynihan shares that they made him a Jedi Knight. It’s hard to believe this is happening to me! The joy of playing this role comes naturally, and being in the same room as the creators of Star Wars is an unforgettable experience. As someone who grew up with this franchise, the opportunity to bring it to life authentically is a dream come true. This project easily ranks among my all-time favorites.

I just saw it recently and it blew me away. I can’t wait for people to see it, because I don’t know if it’s what people are expecting. It’s a lot funnier, but it’s also a lot more heartfelt. It feels like a real Star Wars trilogy saga, and it’s really, really funny.

In a four-part miniseries titled “LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy,” Jedi Knight Bob joins forces with an ordinary man named Sig Greebling (performed by Gaten Matarazzo). Amidst the chaos of a collapsing galaxy, bizarre occurrences abound, such as the Rebellion’s use of AT-ATs and the enigmatic presence of Darth Jar Jar Binks. The ominous character from “Episode I: The Phantom Menace,” voiced once again by Ahmed Best, makes his evil return.

LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy debuts on Disney+ on September 13.
