Bobby is getting a little meta in 911 Season 8

As a long-time fan of 911, I’ve seen Bobby Nash go through some tough times this season. His struggle with self-doubt and his decision to retire from firefighting were heartbreaking, but his eventual realization that he wasn’t to blame for his father’s death was a much-needed breakthrough.

In Season 7 of 911, Bobby Nash grappled with a sense of failure and unworthiness. He embarked on a personal quest to discover his true identity and appreciate the accomplishments he’d made along the way.

After a series of events, he found himself contemplating retirement from firefighting. Yet, a significant realization about his past altered his decision. He acknowledged that the tragic death of his father was not his responsibility, and this revelation prompted him to return to his profession.

It seems that matters won’t be as straightforward in Season 8 of 911. Upon returning to the 118, he discovered that his captain position had been revoked. It appears he’s no longer employed by the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Bobby Nash is a consultant in 911 Season 8

911 Season 8 is starting to poke fun at itself by having Bobby shift roles from firefighter to consultant for a fictional firefighting TV show. However, this new role isn’t exactly positive as it takes him to Hollywood, where the show has little resemblance to real-life firefighting. This seems like a self-referential move by the series that almost feels like it’s making light of its own portrayal.

Bobby’s bound to feel disheartened by this portrayal. He strongly dislikes the way firefighters are often perceived in general, more so when his 118 family is out there bravely performing their duties, putting their lives on the line for real. We can expect some witty exchanges with Athena and perhaps even Buck, Chimney, or Hen.

Will Bobby Nash get back with the 118 in 911 Season 8?

Is there a chance that Bobby might return to the 118 team? After choosing retirement, it’s often challenging to resume such a role. However, the Los Angeles Fire Department has already filled Bobby’s position.

Indeed, Captain Gerrard is the one assuming command over the 111 team. However, he’s not known for being a kind or competent individual. His racist and homophobic tendencies are likely to stir up conflicts among each team member. It seems there won’t be anyone on the team he favors! This could potentially jeopardize their positions, but if they unite together, perhaps they can work towards reinstating Bobby as captain.

911 Season 8 premieres on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 8/7c on ABC.
