Bobby was wedded to the pop icon Whitney Houston from 1992 till 2007, and during this period, they faced struggles with drug-related problems that affected both of them.
They shared a daughter named Bobbi Kristina, who passed away six months following an incident in 2015 where she was discovered unconscious in a bathtub with traces of several drugs in her body. This occurred three years after her mother suffered a similar tragic end.
In November 2020, at the age of 28, Bobby Junior, Bobby’s son with Kim Ward, tragically passed away due to an unintentional overdose involving cocaine, fentanyl, and alcohol.
After honoring his late former mother-in-law Cissy Houston, who passed away at 91 in October, the artist known for “My Prerogative” made an appearance in Los Angeles.

In a statement, Pat expressed that our hearts are heavy with grief and sorrow, as we have lost the beloved matriarch of our family. She acknowledged that the impact her mother-in-law had on popular music and culture was truly extraordinary, without equal in its magnitude.
She stated: ‘Mother Cissy has been a powerful and dominant presence in our lives. A woman deeply rooted in faith and unwavering principles, she held family, ministry, and community close to her heart. Her over 70-year career in music and entertainment will forever stay engraved in ours.’
