Bobby Brazier teases brand new UK drama with Alexandra Burke
As a gamer with a keen eye for captivating narratives and an appreciation for thought-provoking drama, I am genuinely intrigued by the premise of “Curfew”. Having immersed myself in various alternate realities within video games, this show seems to offer a compelling exploration of a parallel world that is both fascinating and unsettling.
Strictly Come Dancing‘s Bobby Brazier has opened up about his new Paramount+ drama Curfew.
In the upcoming British drama, inspired by the book “After Dark” by Jayne Cowie, an actor from EastEnders will share screen time with Mandip Gill (Doctor Who), Larry Lamb (Gavin & Stacey), and Sarah Parish (Stay Close).
In this fictional universe, there’s a law known as the ‘Women’s Safety Act’. Under this act, all men must abide by a 7pm to 7am curfew. Their movements are monitored using a device attached to their ankles.
Speaking with Digital Spy and other media outlets during the National Television Awards, I couldn’t help but share a sneak peek into my upcoming project that will be available for streaming starting October 10. Can’t wait for you all to see it!
He mentioned that a new curfew will be implemented shortly; he’s unsure of the exact date, but he seems quite optimistic about its quality.
Bobby expressed his belief that the topic and ideas presented in the series “Curfew” are certain to spark captivating discussions. Moreover, he considers his latest production as highly engaging, deeming it as “excellent television.
In the new production, the actor from “EastEnders” collaborates alongside Alexandra Burke, a previous winner of “The X Factor.” He expressed that it was a pleasure to share the stage with her during filming.
“Yeah, she’s lovely,” he said. “She owes me a Nando’s actually.”
Additionally, noteworthy actors such as Anita Dobson and Lucy Benjamin from the long-running series EastEnders, along with James Craven who previously shone on Coronation Street, are also part of this production.
Bobby plays a schoolboy who is very vocal in his opposition to the curfew.
As an enthusiast, I’d rephrase that as: During one of my late-night binges, I stumbled upon “Curfew,” a gripping tale where I, as a veteran police officer named Pamela Green (Parish), embark on a murder investigation. The victim? A woman found dead during curfew hours on the steps of the Women’s Safety Centre.
Pamela believes the killer is a man, but her theory is initially rejected on the basis of the strict curfew system that was put in place over three years ago.
According to the official summary, Pamela’s relentless pursuit of evidence to convict a man for murder could potentially undermine or jeopardize The Women’s Safety Act.
Those with authority are firmly committed to ensuring that the curfew is effective, and they’re ready to take whatever measures necessary to keep Pamela unaware of the truth.
Curfew will premiere on Paramount+ on October 10.
