Bob Odenkirk, known for his roles in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, is clarifying rumors about him potentially joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Although reports about him almost being cast weren’t true, he says he’d be happy to work with Marvel Studios if they offered him a role.
Bob Odenkirk recently addressed rumors about him potentially joining the cast of Wonder Man. He said he’d never heard the speculation that he was considered for a role and confirmed he wasn’t approached about the show. However, he did see a billboard for Wonder Man and thought it looked fantastic, adding that he’d be happy to work on a Marvel Cinematic Universe project if he received an offer.
Bob Odenkirk Would Join the MCU
I’d definitely be interested in joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe,” Odenkirk confirmed. “There are so many talented and wonderful actors involved, and Kevin Feige seems like a really good person. I actually spoke with him once. Plus, I admire the dedication and effort they put into creating and expanding their universe.
Bob Odenkirk seems much more open to joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe now than he was before. He previously told The Independent that he preferred projects with a more realistic and down-to-earth feel.
I prefer to focus on realistic, down-to-earth stories and characters. I don’t think I’d thrive in a world of grand, over-the-top narratives. I’m much better at creating characters who feel like ordinary people you might actually know.
Bob Odenkirk Is Now an Action Star
Bob Odenkirk’s recent success in action roles may have opened doors for him to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He’s received a lot of positive attention for films like Nobody, and his new movie, where he plays a sheriff fighting crime, just came out. Given his current career path, appearing in a comic book-based movie or show wouldn’t be surprising at all.
Several actors who appeared in Breaking Bad have also been in Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) projects. made his MCU debut as Sidewinder in last year’s Captain America: Brave New World. Krysten Ritter, famous for playing Jane Margolis in Breaking Bad Season 2, is also reprising her role as Jessica Jones in the second season of Daredevil: Born Again.
I finally got around to watching Wonder Man – all eight episodes landed on Disney+ at once in January. It’s a really interesting show starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams, a Hollywood actor who’s secretly got these incredible powers – super strength and the ability to make things explode! The cast is great too, with X Mayo, Zlatko Burić, Ben Kingsley, and Arian Moayed all involved. I’d heard rumors that Bob Odenkirk was going to play a character named Neal Saroyan, but he didn’t actually end up appearing in the series, which was a little surprising.
Wonder Man is streaming on Disney+.
