Blumhouse’s R-Rated The Mummy Breaks Brendan Fraser’s Movie Runtime Record After 25 Years

Blumhouse’s The Mummy has broken a record.

A new monster movie tells the story of a family reunited with their daughter after eight years, only to find that her return brings terrifying consequences. The film, Lee Cronin’s The Mummy, stars Jack Reynor, May Calamawy, Laia Costa, Natalie Grace, and Verónica Falcón.

The new Mummy film, directed by Lee Cronin, will be the longest in the series at two hours and thirteen minutes, according to AMC Theaters and Fandango. This beats the previous record of two hours and nine minutes, held for 25 years by The Mummy Returns, starring Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz.

This new movie, also called The Mummy, isn’t connected to the earlier films with Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz. This is because it’s made by Warner Bros., whereas Universal Pictures created and released the original trilogy.

This is a developing story…

Lee Cronin’s The Mummy will release in theaters on April 17, 2026.
