Blumhouse's most standout horror film of 2024 is coming to Peacock this December

As a horror enthusiast with a soft spot for films that delve deep into the human psyche, I can confidently say that December 2024 is shaping up to be a chilling yet captivating month for us genre fans. The announcement of “Speak No Evil” gracing our screens on Peacock has sent ripples of excitement through the community.

Typically, December offers a respite from chilling horrors, giving way to an influx of heartwarming, romantic comedies in the entertainment world. However, contrary to expectation, this December promises a fright night with one of the year’s top horror films premiering on Peacock. Can you guess which spine-tingling spectacle it might be?

Drum roll, please! If you didn’t get the chance to see Golden Globe-nominated actor James McAvoy give one of his greatest performances ever when Speak No Evil hit theaters back in September, you’ll soon be able to watch this film from the comfort of your home. No, you didn’t read that wrong. Speak No Evil is slated to come to Peacock this December. The exact streaming release date is Friday, Dec. 6, 2024, so make sure to mark your calendar!

The movie “Speak No Evil” is a psychological horror production directed by James Watkins, recognized for his work on the gothic supernatural horror film “The Woman in Black“, starring Daniel Radcliffe. This is an American adaptation of the widely acclaimed 2022 Danish horror film with the same title, created by Christian Tafdrup. The production company behind it is Blumhouse Productions.

As a gamer, I’d rephrase it like this: While holidaying abroad, I struck up a friendship with a quaint British family. They invited me to their secluded countryside farmhouse for a weekend getaway. Yet, as our stay unfolded, I began to suspect that the warmth and hospitality I initially encountered might hide sinister intentions.

Additionally starring alongside McAvoy are Mackenzie Davis, Scoot McNairy, Aisling Franciosi, Alix West Lefler, Dan Hough, Kris Hitchen, and Motaz Mulhees.

Following its debut at the DGA Theater in New York City on September 9, Universal Pictures made Speak No Evil available in U.S. cinemas a few days later on September 13. The film garnered mostly favorable reviews from critics, who appreciated its eerie and unnerving ambiance, as well as its exceptional performances. It was also commended for its skillful blend of horror and dark comedy.

Speak No Evil went on to become a box-office success, ultimately grossing $76.7 million worldwide against a budget of $15 million, making it one of Blumhouse’s most successful and profitable movies of the year. Although I already saw it when it was in theaters, I’m looking forward to rewatching it when it comes to Peacock. It’s just too good not to see it again!

If you prefer horror movies that delve deeply into your emotions, be sure to watch “Speak No Evil” in 2024. Although it may start off slowly, the tension will build as the story unfolds, keeping you captivated until the very end. Get ready for a chilling viewing experience unlike any other when “Speak No Evil” premieres on Peacock this December!
