Blue Wiggle Anthony Field is roasted over his spray tan as he takes the stage at 2024 Logie Awards with the group’s original stars
As a dedicated fan who grew up with The Wiggles, I must say that seeing Anthony Field at the 2024 Logie Awards was like revisiting my childhood. However, the sight of his spray tan could make you believe he’s auditioning for an extra role in a Tarantino film! Jokes aside, it seems like some viewers were not as amused and took to social media to roast him.
A star of children’s band The Wiggles has been mocked for his look at the 2024 Logie Awards.
On Sunday, Anthony Field, a former member of the original Blue Wiggles band, made a noticeable appearance on Australia’s biggest television event, sporting an eye-catching ensemble.
Anthony, clad in a suit reminiscent of the Old West and flashing a golden tooth, shared the stage with his former bandmates, Jeff Fatt, Greg Page, and Murray Cook, as they both presented the Logie Award for Excellence in Children’s Programming together.
However, some spectators pointed out that Field, aged 61, seemed to have exaggeratedly applied self-tanner for the event.
On Sunday, viewers of the Logie awards took to social media platform X (previously known as Twitter) to tease or criticize the children’s entertainer playfully.
As a lifestyle advisor, I’d suggest, “Anthony, consider using a lighter touch with the self-tanner next time, especially since your fellow Wiggles don’t use it. Just a friendly tip to help you blend in naturally!”
‘Anthony Wiggle has given himself the real Trump spray tan tonight,’ another jokingly commented.
Additionally, another viewer pondered if Field’s image hinted at a possible job shift coming up.
“Another X-user playfully commented, ‘I can hardly wait until Anthony Field unveils his Wiggles-branded tequila line while wearing that outfit!'”
It comes as other viewers tuned in to Channel Seven to mock the show.
In my professional opinion as a lifestyle expert, the awards event seemed to fall flat for some attendees, sparking numerous conversations about topic X among the participants.
One individual remarked, ‘Will anyone actually tune into the Logies? Apart from Sam Pang, I couldn’t care less.’
Another agreed: ‘Literally just said that to the missus. How is the Logies still a thing??’
I’ve always found myself to be a bit of a casual observer when it comes to award shows like The Logies. But let me tell you, from my perspective, this event seems to be more of a spectacle for the celebrities involved rather than for the average viewer. To be honest, if not for the entertaining Twitter feed, I wouldn’t bother tuning in at all. You see, I don’t have that insider connection or personal stake in Hollywood, so it can be hard to get excited about an event that feels more like a clique gathering than a celebration of the arts. But hey, everyone has their own tastes and preferences, right?
‘God, are the Logies STILL going?’ joked one viewer alongside a crying laughing emoji.
‘Does anyone not working in TV actually even care about the logies these days,’ one person asked.
‘Most irrelevant awards around surely,’ they added.
Many viewers found themselves annoyed by the recurring advertisements for Channel Seven’s reality show, The Voice, during the broadcast.
‘What’s with the Voice promo in the middle of the red carpet banter?’ asked one viewer.
‘I want to watch the Logies. Not The Voice. How dare they get all cross-promotional on us!’
Someone else chimed in: ‘Oh god. How many The Voice will we have to sit through tonight?’
Yet another added jokingly: ‘I do not consent to watching The Voice’.
‘Of course channel 7 has to promo their next show during the Logies,’ one more person posted.
