How to unlock Fishing in Blue Protocol: Star Resonance

You can start fishing after you finish the main story quest, “Fireworks Fantasy Night.” This makes sure you understand how the game works before you try this relaxing and enjoyable activity.

Start by finding the Fishing Guild Member in Asterleeds, a short distance north of Celestine Plaza. Talking to her will begin the “Invitation from the Fishing Guild” quest, which will teach you how fishing works and give you a Regular Fishing Pole along with 5 Beginner’s Bait.

To finish the tutorial, you need to catch an Asterscad at Yacht Harbor. When you get near the water, the fishing tutorial will start automatically, teaching you how to cast your line, wait for a bite, and reel in the fish.

After you catch a fish and give it to the guild member, you’ll receive 5 Regular Bait, 5 Precise Bait, 300 Bound Luno, and 30,000 Adventurer EXP. With that, fishing is now completely unlocked and available in all fishing areas – enjoy!

How to Fish in Blue Protocol: Star Resonance

Fishing in Star Resonance seems easy at first, but it actually takes skill in timing, paying attention to your surroundings, and planning a little. To start, you need to find a Fishing Spot, which will show up as a glowing icon on your map. Right now, you can only fish in Asterleeds and Asteria Plains, and you have to use the specific spots marked for fishing.

After getting a Fishing Pole and choosing your Bait, throw your line into the water. Watch the bobber – small movements mean a fish is nibbling. When you see an exclamation point [!], a fish has taken the bait, and the fishing mini-game starts!

The main part of fishing involves a struggle with the fish. The screen is split into three areas – left, center, and right – and the fish will move between them as it tries to get away. To reel it in, you need to point your fishing rod at where the fish is and carefully control the line tension. If you pull too hard, the line will break and the fish will get away.

Once you’ve lined up your fishing pole with the fish, press and hold the reel-in button to fill the progress bar. When the bar is full, you’ll bring the fish to shore and get your catch! That’s all there is to it – you’ve successfully reeled it in.

How to use your Fish in Blue Protocol: Star Resonance

Fishing isn’t just about catching fish – it’s what you do with them afterward that makes it really interesting! In Star Resonance, fishing works well with three other skills: Cooking, Alchemy, and Plant Lore. Specifically, fish and scallops are key ingredients for recipes that can improve your combat abilities when cooking.

Fishing is connected to Guild Systems, offering ways to contribute and earn rewards. Each day, your Guild might need fish deliveries, which will give you Luno (Unbound) and help your Guild level up. A Guild Buff called the Boon Fountain can also give you +1 fish per catch for a full 24 hours, making fishing more productive. Finally, you can sell your catch at the Seafood Store, but there are daily limits on how much Raw Fish Meat, Scallops, and Asterscad you can sell.

Players with a Season Pass can also gain benefits from fishing. Fishing earns Activity Merits, which contribute to both Season Points and Adventurer EXP. While not every fish is needed for cooking or guild tasks, unwanted catches – like ocean trash – can be recycled in Asterleeds. The Ocean Garbage Recycler turns this trash into Luno (Bound), which helps free up inventory space and provides extra money.

How to get more Bait and Fishing Rods in Blue Protocol: Star Resonance

How well you fish really comes down to your equipment. Having good fishing poles and bait is key, and improving them as your fishing skill increases will help you fish faster, prevent breakage, and catch more fish.

As you improve your Fishing skill, you’ll gain access to better rods and bait. You can also learn advanced bait recipes through the Culinary life skill, giving you more options for successful fishing. Make sure to visit the Fishing Store or complete quests to keep a good supply of bait on hand for longer fishing trips.

Final Thoughts

Fishing in Blue Protocol isn’t just a peaceful hobby – it’s a surprisingly deep activity. It requires thought, focus, and patience, and ties into other parts of the game like character skills, guilds, and special events. This makes it a rewarding part of your overall adventure.
