Blondie bassist Fred Smith has died aged 77 after suffering a long illness.
Fred was one of the original members of a famous rock band that included Debbie Harry. He was most recognized for his contributions to the band Television.
Jimmy Rip, his bandmate and guitarist, shared on Instagram that he battled his illness with strength and determination for several years, always excited about what was next.
‘We had big plans to play Tom’s music live this year… But it just wasn’t meant to be.’
His cause of death is currently unknown.
