Blizzard wastes no time: Overwatch 2 Stadium updates will arrive soon after player feedback
Based on the community’s suggestions, the Overwatch 2 development team is introducing mid-season modifications to the Stadium game mode.
In response to demonstrating that they are attentive to their players, Blizzard Entertainment has made it clear that this includes the introduction of Stadium in Overwatch 2. Not even two full days had passed since Season 16’s launch with its brand-new game mode Stadium, and the developers have already announced a series of forthcoming updates.
Crossplay in Stadium
On both the Blizzard Forums and the official Overwatch 2 Reddit, players have been noticing that the Stadium mode does not support cross-platform play between PC and console. This has been quite disappointing for those eager to enjoy the new gameplay mode, as they feel it significantly diminishes their experience.
1. Player A complained: It’s really frustrating that I can’t play Stadium with my friends because they are on console, and the ranking system is keeping us from enjoying it together.
2. Player B expressed agreement: Yep, I feel the same way. My friend and I only have a few games we can play together (PC and Switch), and this has dampened most of the excitement I had for Stadium.
According to the official Overwatch 2 team, they’ve taken note of these issues and are currently examining them. They mentioned that a fix, tentatively scheduled for Season 16 mid-way through, is under investigation, and will share more details when available. This potential resolution could lead to significant changes in Stadium, possibly including crossplay.
Leavers in the Stadium
As a dedicated gamer, I’ve noticed a common problem within the Overwatch 2 community: players quitting games mid-match. We, the developers, are keeping a keen eye on this situation to determine if it’s merely a perception or an actual issue. Hopefully, we’ll have some insights about this matter by the end of this week.
Stadium performance
Because Stadium mode in Overwatch 2 is quite challenging, they’re brainstorming fresh concepts to enhance the experience for all players. It seems that this mode is causing more strain on older gaming systems, as reported by players. These issues are being examined to potentially address them in an upcoming update.
Stadium updates: More bonuses and hero balance
At the Stadium, certain characters seem more dominant than others, causing some matches to become challenging for others. To provide a fairer and enjoyable experience for all players, Overwatch 2 plans to implement modifications to even things out. As the Stadium is still in its developmental phase with numerous combinations being explored, it’s premature to make firm decisions. However, be confident that adjustments will be made down the line to enhance balance and gameplay.
Looking forward to some thrilling updates at Stadium! Expect an enhancement in Competitive Points and resolution of certain issues. Overwatch 2 has acknowledged that players feel these points are insufficient given the match duration, which they’ll rectify in the mid-season update. Additionally, this update aims to resolve a visual glitch where Battle Pass XP appears as zero post-game.
“It feels great when our thoughts are acknowledged, so don’t hold back on expressing your opinions regarding the Stadium in Overwatch 2. Your feedback could contribute significantly to enhancing its future experiences.”
