During the upcoming Overwatch 2 developer livestream, we can expect discussions about map selection, updates, and Aatlis. Notably, the new map voting system is scheduled to launch on June 24, which also marks the beginning of Overwatch 2 Season 17. As announced by Blizzard Entertainment, this feature will be available in both Quick Play and Competitive game modes as well.

When joining a role queue, you’ll be presented with three randomly chosen maps to pick from initially. Each subsequent vote will increment the selected map’s probability by 1 out of every 10 possibilities. A new feature ensures that all players’ battle tags and team chats remain hidden. Additionally, the leaver penalty takes effect right at the start of the map voting phase.

Regarding the updates, Dawson and Murillo will probably discuss the remodeled versions of the Suravasa and New Junk City maps. These are known as Flashpoints maps within Overwatch 2. The revamped Suravasa and New Junk City are expected to be introduced during the latter part of Season 17 of Overwatch 2, as per an earlier announcement.

Regarding the upcoming Overwatch 2 maps, it’s worth mentioning that Aatlis is set to join the lineup. As of now, details suggest that this map will be based in Morocco and will feature lush gardens and resort-like environments. Here are some images of Aatlis, courtesy of Blizzard Entertainment.
