Blizzard adjusts DPS Doomfist in Overwatch Classic update
Some updates to DPS Doomfist in Overwatch Classic are now live.
In the special Overwatch Classic mode, Blizzard has tweaked the damage per second (DPS) of character Doomfist. Here’s what you need to know.
Overwatch Classic DPS Doomfist patch notes
This hotfix for the Overwatch Classic game introduces modifications to the character Doomfist. Changes include improvements to Seismic Slam, Rising Uppercut, Rocket Punch, and Meteor Strike abilities.
In this update for Overwatch Classic’s gameplay, Blizzard has tweaked several aspects of Doomfist, such as his Seismic Slam, Rising Uppercut, Rocket Punch, and Meteor Strike moves.
Below are all of the adjustments, as stated by Blizzard:
- In Overwatch Classic, we’ve adjusted Seismic Slam’s ground checks and the shockwave hitbox to the older values.
- In Overwatch Classic, air time for Uppercut was adjusted to the original value. Loss of air control duration is set to the original 3 seconds instead of 0.6 seconds.
- In Overwatch Classic, Meteor Strike no longer can cancel Seismic Slam and Uppercut.
- In Overwatch Classic, Rocket Punch no longer can cancel Seismic Slam and Uppercut.
As stated by the creators, the modifications made to Overwatch Classic are intended to readjust Doomfist’s characteristics to align more closely with his initial feel from September 2017, much like the recent adjustments made to Mercy in her most recent update.
Developers mentioned they plan to make necessary bug corrections next week, addressing other issues that have been brought to their attention.
DPS Doomfist abilities and ultimate
Note that the classic version of Overwatch features team battles with six players on each side, and Doomfist is classified as a damage hero in this mode. In the regular Overwatch 2 game, however, he is categorized as a tank character. Here is our screenshot showing all of Doomfist’s abilities in the classic version of the game.
We’ve written out Doomfist’s kit below as well:
- Rocket Punch (Ability): Hold to charge, then release to launch forward and knock an enemy back. Damage increases if the enemy hits a wall.
- Rising Uppercut (Ability): Knock an enemy into the air
- Seismic Slam (Ability): Leap forward and smash the ground.
- Meteor Strike (Ultimate): Leap into the air, move the targeting circle, then left-click to strike the targeted area.
- Hand Cannon (Primary Weapon): A short-range weapon with spread. It reloads automatically.
- The Best Defense (Passive): Dealing damage with abilities creates temporary personal health.
