Bling Empire star undergoes emergency brain surgery after horrific skiing accident

Lynn Ban, a cast member from the show Bling Empire, disclosed that she had an urgent brain operation over Christmas Eve, following a terrible skiing mishap.

51-year-old actress from Netflix, shared on Instagram about a harrowing experience she had gone through. She expressed gratitude and blessing for being alive to welcome the New Year after having faced a potentially fatal situation.

The jewelry designer shared that it was during her holiday in Aspen, Colorado, that the event transpired, as she posted pictures from her trip along with snapshots of her freshly shaven head and surgical scar.

‘In a blink of an eye… life can change,’ the TV personality wrote in a caption. 

Spending Christmas Eve basking in the sunlight of Aspen while on holiday with loved ones, I encountered an unfortunate ski mishap that would alter the course of my life.

She added: ‘Reaching the summit, I picked up a helpful hint but ended up falling flat on my face. Fortunately, I’m accustomed to wearing a protective helmet. At first sight, it didn’t appear too severe, and I managed to ski all the way down.’

To ensure my safety, I decided it was best to seek evaluation by the ski patrol due to a suspected concussion. After thorough examination, they declared me fit and well.

Nevertheless, there was an uneasy feeling as the star remarked, ‘I was experiencing a slight headache, assuming it would pass after a meal, allowing me to continue skiing.’

‘The paramedic suggested I go to the hospital for a cat scan. This saved my life.’

Later on, Lynn described the situation: “Jett and I hopped into a taxi, and within half an hour, we were informed that I was suffering from a brain hemorrhage and required immediate transportation by air ambulance to the trauma center.

The last thing I can recall is undergoing intubation, then regaining consciousness following an urgent brain surgery (craniotomy), with my husband Jett Kain at my bedside.

The famous television personality expressed her heartfelt appreciation towards those who helped save her life. She stated that while there is still a lengthy process of recovery in front of her, she feels like a survivor and is thankful for the dedicated work of ski patrol, the exceptional medical team consisting of doctors and nurses, as well as the love and support from her family and friends.

‘GOD IS GOOD. Grateful and blessed to see the new year.’ 

Immediately following the announcement, the star’s supporters swamped the comments area with heartfelt messages of sympathy and encouragement towards the star and her loved ones.

Dorothy Wang, her fellow actor, remarked: “Wow Lynn, I’m getting goosebumps! I’m thrilled to know you’re alright and surrounded by your wonderful family. Sending you a heap of affection and hoping for your swift recovery.

fellow Bling Empire cast member Christine Chiu expressed her apologies by saying: ‘I’m deeply sorry… I’m sending you an abundance of love, prayers, and wishes for a swift recovery.’

Actress Debi Mazar, known for her role in Kaos, responded: “Wow! Lynn! I’m truly sorry about what happened to you! Your new hairstyle and scar have an unexpectedly attractive charm.

‘You’re a warrior and we are all wishing you a speedy recovery! Sending love and strength!’

Model Adwoa Aboah also stated: ‘You’re a survivor, sending so much love to you.’

Ann Caruso, a fashion editor and celebrity stylist, expressed: ‘What a real Christmas miracle! I’m so relieved you visited the hospital for examination. It turned out to be lifesaving!’

Based on my personal experience, it is crucial for everyone to seek medical attention following any accident, even if one feels fine initially. My own close call taught me that internal injuries can sometimes be hidden and may not show symptoms immediately. So, prioritize your health and safety by getting checked out at the hospital. In simple terms, the first season of Bling Empire was released in January 2021, followed by its second season in May 2022.

In October 2022, the third season, featuring an additional two episodes, bringing the total count to 10, was launched.

Drawing inspiration from the hit movie “Crazy Rich Asians” (2018), this unscripted series focuses on the lives of wealthy socialites who not only party extravagantly, but also manage significant businesses in the city of Los Angeles.

Just as a popular reality series often includes its dose of conflict, so too did Bling Empire, with its cast revealing and hoarding hidden truths.

Ever since it premiered, the program has faced criticism due to debuting amidst the pandemic, a time when anti-Asian sentiments were running high in the United States.

The show “Bling Empire” faced criticism for reinforcing the notion that all Asian-Americans are affluent and privileged.

Conversely, some argued that the success of the series, along with a follow-up show centered in New York City sharing the same theme, merely sparked more curiosity about the affluent segment of the Asian diaspora. However, they believed it failed to encompass the entire community and its true identity.
