BLEED Esports win Steelseries Invitational with mystery third

As a seasoned gamer with years of Apex Legends under my belt, I can confidently say that the Steelseries Invitational was a rollercoaster ride! The nail-biting finale between BLEED Esports and 5Star was a testament to the skill and determination of these top-tier teams.

BLEED Esports edged out a win by just two points.

BLEED Esports emerged victorious in the recent Steelseries Apex Legends invitational tournament. They managed to surpass other top teams such as 5Star and TSM over a long, two-day competition consisting of twelve games. Now, attention is shifting towards the unknown third player who was disguising under the name Raven, their coach.

During the peak of rostermania following Post-ALGS Split 2 Playoffs, and with the ALGS Championship Roster Lock drawing near, the Steelseries Invitational offered a glimpse into possible roster adjustments within North American teams.

BLEED Esports take first, but with who?

During this mid-season pause, BLEED Esports is among the teams reshuffling their rosters. They’ve decided to part ways with Shooby and are currently on the lookout for a new team member. Initially, it seemed like they were going head-to-head with coach Raven when the tournament started on Saturday afternoon. However, it didn’t take long to realize that things weren’t as they appeared. Despite the fact that coach Raven is a multiple LAN champion, it became apparent that there was more going on behind the scenes.

In a spectacular show of skill, the enigmatic gamer known as “Raven” left a mark on the Steelseries invitational with an impressive number of kills and massive damage dealt. However, the question remains: who is this secret player poised to join BLEED Esports? Of course, the internet sleuths on Reddit wasted no time in attempting to unveil the player’s true identity.

It appears that the enigmatic player could be YanYa, who is presently associated with Team Liquid and clinched the Code Freedom Champions title recently. Interestingly, Team Liquid itself was slated to participate in this event, but unexpectedly withdrew at the eleventh hour. Although it’s not definitive, whispers among competitors seem convincing enough to have a high level of certainty about this potential identification.

It’s unclear whether this was a test or a final decision. If it was indeed a trial, it’s difficult to conceive of how it could have been any more successful. The team seems to have found the exact raw aggression they were searching for in YanYa, as he appears to fit their requirements perfectly.

Who might step in for YanYa on Liquid, given the ongoing trend of players switching teams, seems to indicate another round of player shuffles and transactions. Teams like E8, Complexity, and C9 are also undergoing changes.

Steelseries Invitational top five

BLEED’s victory was extremely close, with a premature departure in Game 12 enabling multiple teams to chase them. In the final analysis, they were only two points away from underdog team 5Star.

Top five:

  • BLEED Esports – 101
  • 5Star – 99
  • TSM – 96
  • YUP – 93
  • E8 – 87

5Star truly shone throughout the duration of the event. On the other hand, YJelly, Vudo, and Darklight were not initially noticed, but they delivered an exceptional Day 2 performance. Although they came up just short of victory, they have much to be proud of for their display.
