Best Characters in BLEACH: Soul Resonance

1. Ichigo Kurosaki (Bankai)

Role: Full-Assault

Ultimate: Hollowfication

Ichigo Kurosaki (Bankai) is a powerhouse in BLEACH: Soul Resonance. The moment he activates his Bankai, it’s obvious he’s designed to control the fight. He excels at quick, non-stop attacks that put opponents on the defensive, preventing them from launching a counterattack.

The most impressive part of Ichigo’s abilities is his Hollowfication ultimate. When activated, it turns him into a nearly invincible fighter. It instantly resets all his ability cooldowns, allowing him to use moves back-to-back, significantly increases his damage, makes him very hard to stun or interrupt, and ensures he stays alive with at least 1 HP throughout the duration.

Ichigo’s ability to teleport with Getsuga Marks, combined with his powerful attacks, makes him a highly effective and mobile damage dealer, easily cutting through large groups of enemies. He’s widely considered the best damage-focused unit in the game, firmly holding the top spot in the SS-tier.

2. Kisuke Urahara

Role: Support

Ultimate: Hado #91: Senjukotentaiho

Kisuke Urahara appears relaxed, often seen in flip-flops, but he’s a powerful asset in BLEACH: Soul Resonance. His special ability, Reishi Analysis, steadily boosts his team’s Attack power by 10% with each stack, and he can build up to three stacks quickly during battle. This significantly increases the overall damage output of any team he’s on.

Urahara’s special ability greatly increases his worth to any team. He launches a strong attack that deals significant damage and also boosts his entire team’s Critical Damage by 50% for 25 seconds. Since Critical Damage is a very powerful stat in the game, combining Urahara with damage-dealing characters focused on Assault, Control, or Tactics can create an incredibly strong team. Although he doesn’t deal massive damage on his own, his helpful abilities and team support make him essential for challenging endgame content.

3. Byakuya Kuchiki

Role: Tactic Ultimate: Bankai – Senbonzakura Kageyoshi

Byakuya Kuchiki is a graceful and deadly fighter who excels as a strategic unit. His ultimate ability, Senbonzakura Kageyoshi, transforms his blade into a flurry of petals, delivering a fast series of attacks. When he activates this ability, he enters Bankai mode for 15 seconds, and impressively, this powerful state continues even after he’s switched out of battle, letting him consistently damage enemies from the sidelines while you control a different character.

Byakuya shines when a team needs careful strategy and quick switching between characters. He’s a great fit for groups focused on consistently dealing damage without needing to directly control every move, especially those that rely on powerful combo attacks. He’s strong at dealing damage from the sidelines, helping the team cycle through abilities efficiently, and working well with characters who need to keep their combos going.

4. Kaname Tosen

Role: Tactic Ultimate: Bankai – Suzumushi Tsuishiki: Enma Kōrogi

Kaname Tosen is a powerful Tactic unit, excelling at both control and damage. His ultimate ability unleashes his Bankai, creating a large, dome-shaped area that draws enemies in. This deals massive damage – 900% of his Attack – and inflicts the Wound status effect. Wound stacks with each application, up to 30 times, increasing damage over time and boosting the effectiveness of Tosen’s and his allies’ skills.

Tosen excels in fast-paced battles that rely on quickly switching between attacks and abilities. His special ability immediately refills his energy and resets his cooldowns, letting him maintain constant offense and link powerful combos. He works particularly well with units that deal piercing damage, making him effective both as a main damage dealer and a support character for his team.

As a player, I’ve found that Tosen is amazing when teamed up with powerful Assault units. Together, they can really take down tough bosses and challenging content – but it takes practice to get the timing right and coordinate your attacks. What I love about Tosen is how mobile he is and how much control he gives you. He’s fun to play whether you’re just starting out or are a seasoned veteran!

Final Thoughts

BLEACH: Soul Resonance has a well-rounded character selection at launch, but a few characters are particularly strong. Ichigo (Bankai) is currently the most powerful character and is a key part of many top teams. Urahara is a popular support character who improves the performance of any team. Byakuya and Tosen are both versatile characters that allow for complex strategies and high damage output.
