I’m thrilled to announce that BLAST Rivals Spring is here, and things are starting off with an intriguing clash! To kick off the group stage, we have a formidable duel: the legendary Spirit, fresh from their break, squaring off against the Australian powerhouse FlyQuest in a best-of-three showdown.
Who will lock in an early playoff spot with the win? The action kicks off at 10am CEST, April 30!
Spirit return from break while FlyQuest continue rebuild under “new” IGL INS: Preview
In their last encounter: Spirit beat FlyQuest 2-0 during the BLAST Bounty Season 1 tournament with score lines of 13-3 and 13-1.
Last time they met, Spirit triumphed over FlyQuest in a 2-0 victory, with results of 13-3 and 13-1 at the BLAST Bounty Season 1 tournament.
During April, Team Spirit took a brief break from competition as they chose to miss multiple tournaments following an intense beginning to their season. Among their opponents, Danil “donk” Kryshkovets is the most formidable adversary; you can expect him to be among the leaders in the server’s rankings.
On the other hand, we have FlyQuest. The Australians find themselves as underdogs in the BLAST Spring Rivals tournament, facing a number of strong competitors in their group. Additionally, they are playing in just their second major event since Chris “dexter” Nong left, with Joshua “INS” Potter resuming his role as the team’s in-game leader.
In Melbourne, FlyQuest thrilled the local spectators by triumphing over Virtus.pro during the group stage and securing a victory against NaVi on one map. However, they will have to put forth significant effort if they aim to secure a playoff position, starting with their opening match versus Spirit.
They last faced off at the BLAST Bounty in January, and it was just as one-sided as a CS2 match can get. Spirit overpowered the Australians 2-0 (13-3, 13-1), with donk (44 kills, 2.30 rating) practically destroying FlyQuest. He racked up more kills than three of FlyQuest’s members combined.
Predict that he will perform similarly during today’s encounter, and although FlyQuest has been on an upward trend following their strong performance at home in Melbourne, they seem unlikely to win this game.
