BLAST Rivals Spring 2025: Group A Lower Bracket – paiN vs. Wildcard
The first team to head home from BLAST Rivals Spring will be decided in this matchup!
On day two at BLAST Rivals Spring 2025, we dive straight into the Group A eliminator. Most didn’t give Wildcard and paiN a shot in yesterday’s BLAST Rivals Spring openers, but while the experts were correct, paiN put up a fight that exceeded many predictions. As a gamer, I was impressed with their tenacity!
Simultaneously, suffering a 13-0 defeat on LAN is far from enjoyable and certainly not something you’d like to be known for at BLAST Spring Rivals. Therefore, prepare for a revitalized paiN team to dish out the struggle in this closely fought battle against Wildcard.
Battle for BLAST Rivals Spring survival begins with paiN, Wildcard in Group A: Preview
Head-to-head: paiN 0-1 Wildcard
Last meeting: Wildcard 13-10 paiN, Shanghai Major 2024
In my gaming world, going up against established teams as underdogs in Group A was a tough challenge, but we at paiN didn’t back down. Our opening game against MOUZ was particularly noteworthy, considering it was Franco “dgt” Garcia’s debut with our team. Despite the pressure, he put up an impressive performance that left quite an impact.
The 13-11 victory in Nuke that tied the series was indeed impressive, but the baffling 13-0 loss on map three left everyone puzzled. MOUZ significantly stepped up their game as they pursued an early playoff spot, while paiN found themselves on the wrong end of things.
In their opening match, underdogs Wildcard were faced against powerhouse team Vitality, who were initially considered to have only a slim chance of victory. However, despite arriving from IEM Melbourne barely hours before the game and having no time for preparation, the French organization proved too strong for Wildcard.
In Copenhagen, the North American team hopes that Josh “JBa” Barutt can score for them. At 20 years old, he proved to be Wildcard’s top performer in their 2-0 defeat against Vitality. However, a greater impact is anticipated from JBa during the eliminator. For Wildcard to prevent paiN from advancing, they must perform as a cohesive unit as well.
Wildcard vs. paiN kicks off at 11am CEST, May 1!
