Blasphemous 2 'Mea Culpa' Paid Expansion Coming This Halloween Alongside Free New Game+ Update

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I must say that the announcement of ‘Blasphemous 2: Mea Culpa’ expansion has me thoroughly enthused! Having played and completed the original game multiple times, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia combined with excitement.

In October, Team17 and developer The Game Kitchen have revealed that the game Blasphemous 2 is getting a new addition called ‘Mea Culpa’. This downloadable content (DLC) will bring back The Penitent One to Cystodia, offering players an opportunity to live through an alternate ending.

In addition to the title artifact, “Mea Culpa” will introduce fresh bosses, two distinct zones, four new allies, novel abilities, updated Argent Council figures, new adversaries, four unique quests, and new accomplishments. This expansion also brings forth additional challenges and rewards for players.

In addition to the New Game+ feature, players can expect a complimentary ‘True Torment’ update. This update will not only include an enhancement of existing areas like the Choir of Thorns, Sunken Cathedral, and Basilica of Ancient Faces, but also present new trials within these zones, as well as an entirely fresh challenge called ‘The Labyrinth of Tides’.

The Mea Culpa add-on is set to debut in Blasphemous 2 on October 31st for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The price will be $11.99, £11.99, or €11.99, but during the first two weeks, it will be discounted by 20%. Additionally, a free update called True Torment will also be available at the same time.
