Blake Lively’s TIME100 Cover Sparks Outrage at Gala with Ryan Reynolds
At the TIME100 gala in New York City on Thursday, Blake Lively sparked an angry reaction from another TIME100 recipient upon their arrival.
On the red carpet, Megyn Kelly, aged 54, expressed a heartfelt critique towards the 37-year-old actress known for “Another Simple Favor” during her conversation with DailyMail.com.
According to Megyn, Blake, who left readers outraged over her TIME100 cover, ‘shouldn’t be here.’
At the event where she was accompanied by her 48-year-old husband Ryan Reynolds, the actress was criticized for misusing the Me Too movement when she decided to take legal action against her It Ends With Us director and co-star Justin Baldoni, alleging sexual harassment under false pretenses.
The host of The Megyn Kelly show, flaunting her slender silhouette in a red, sleeveless gown, playfully expressed her desire for a distant selfie with Blake and Meghan Markle. She humorously mentioned that they have given her an abundance of entertaining material to work with.
‘It’s a ridiculous joke. She shouldn’t be here,’ she said of Blake.
Megyn stated that it appears Blake falsely accused Justin of inappropriate behavior under the #MeToo movement, and she now regrets making those accusations because most of them have been proven untrue.
As a devoted admirer, it’s utterly scandalous that such recognition is given to her, for attempting to tarnish a man’s reputation over trivial matters. It’s beyond belief!
As a die-hard admirer, I can’t help but feel that TIME might be seeking attention by featuring prominent celebrities on their cover. However, it’s utterly misguided and inappropriate for them to bestow their credibility upon a star who’s embroiled in controversy.
