Blake Lively's It Ends With Us set for massive opening weekend, faces off against husband Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool & Wolverine for top box office

As a die-hard fan of both Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, this weekend is shaping up to be nothing short of a box office showdown for me! The tension between these two powerhouses on screen has me on the edge of my seat, especially with the added drama off-screen.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are set to clash at the box office this weekend.

The upcoming movie of the actress, titled “It Ends With Us,” is expected to have a massive debut this weekend, as reported by Deadline. Meanwhile, her spouse’s films “Deadpool” and “Wolverine” have held strong on the box office for the last fortnight.

On its preview night, It Ends With Us raked in an impressive $7 million, boosting its anticipated Friday earnings to a whopping $23.2 million. In contrast, Deadpool & Wolverine are projected to gather $15 million on Friday alone.

According to the forecast, It Ends With Us is projected to generate approximately $40 million at the box office, and Deadpool & Wolverine might even make as much as $53 million.

Furthermore, several forecasts indicate a ‘Barbenheimer’ phenomenon over the weekend, as viewers are expected to attend screenings of both movies, “It Ends With Us” and “Deadpool & Wolverine.”

To date, Deadpool & Wolverine has earned $407 million domestically and $851 million worldwide.

The battle at the box office comes despite Blake’s movie being been blocked for theatrical release in Qatar due to kissing scenes.

In this version, the Censorship Board of the given country prohibited the release of Sony Pictures’ PG-13 rated romantic drama adapted from Colleen Hoover’s 2016 bestselling novel, due to its intense portrayal of domestic violence.

In a heated disagreement with her fellow actor Justin Baldoni, the 36-year-old actress takes on the role of Lily Bloom in the movie. This character engages in romantic kisses and a suggestive love scene, during which both characters are only clad in their underclothes.

Located at the northeastern end of the Arabian Peninsula, Qatar is well-known for its strict censorship practices and a tendency to ban American films.

Following the restriction of other PG-13 movies such as Barbie, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and Eternals, a ban has been imposed on It Ends With Us.

Additionally, it was reported by a source to DailyMail.com that the conflict between Lively and Baldoni originated from alleged chauvinistic and borderline abusive conduct on set by the actor/director.

For several weeks, there’s been chatter about a bitter rivalry between Justin, who’s 40, and Blake. The internet detectives have pointed out that they didn’t appear together at the US premiere, while some cast members have avoided discussing the director, hinting at potential tension.

Currently, sources close to the situation have disclosed some troubling details regarding the friction between Blake and Justin, sharing with DailyMail.com that their disagreements stemmed from Justin’s perceived dismissiveness towards Blake’s suggestions during scenes involving abusive content while they were filming together.

Today, the movie adaption of Colleen Hoover’s popular book takes center stage at cinemas. The narrative revolves around the character of Lily Bloom, a talented floral designer, and her relationship with Ryle Kincaid, portrayed by Justin, who is a neurosurgeon. However, their romance swiftly transforms into something harmful after they begin dating.

The source asserted that Justin primarily concentrated on what he perceived as a biased, oppressive perspective from men and exhibited a markedly ‘male-dominated’ or ‘macho’ stance regarding the subject matter.

In my analysis of certain scenes, I noticed that Justin seemed to overlook Blake’s character’s point of view, instead immersing himself deeply in what he perceived as the perspective of an abusive male character. This observation was shared by others.

‘His approach was very chauvinistic, creating a tense atmosphere on set.’

The source asserted that Justin exhibited behavior bordering on abusive while on set, and suggested he immersed himself so deeply into his role that he came very close to embodying the character.

In a troubling turn of events, it was reported that Justin’s behavior on set was alarmingly close to being abusive towards certain women, displaying an unprofessional demeanor and showing no remorse for his actions.

‘Directing a film so serious and so important about domestic abuse without allowing the women to be included in this process is disturbing.’

The source claimed that the actor, who additionally held director and producer positions, apparently overlooked the fact that Blake and Colleen were also working as producers and writers alongside him.

And they said he took it ‘very personally’ when the pair asked for some script rewrites.

‘Without Colleen’s book, none of this would have been possible,’ they pointed out.

As a devoted admirer, I can confidently say that certain scenes in the movie were meticulously revised at Colleen’s direction – it was a necessity. His involvement with the script choices ran deep; he took them as personal affronts, though the intentions behind those decisions were far from intended for him.

They said things only got worse once he began to feel ‘ganged up on’ by the women on set.

The source added, ‘His actions went beyond just the key participants. When he sensed being surrounded or outnumbered, his compassion decreased significantly.’

Currently, he seems to be showering compliments, perhaps due to the apprehension that they might expose him. He senses the confrontation approaching and may attempt to shift the blame for his actions onto his role as a method actor.

DailyMail.com has contacted representatives for Blake, Justin and Colleen for comment.
