Blake Lively shared some old photos on social media Sunday, and included a tribute to her late Gossip Girl co-star, Michelle Trachtenberg.
Blake Lively, age 38, posted 20 photos on social media from when she played the main character, Serena van der Woodsen, on The CW’s teen drama series.
Liliana ‘Lily’ Trachtenberg, who sadly passed away earlier this year at 39 from diabetes-related complications, appeared as Georgina Sparks in 28 episodes of the show.
In the scene, Trachtenberg had on a black shirt and a necklace, and Lively was wearing a maroon-colored shirt.
On the set of the teen drama – which featured Penn Badgley, Leighton Meester, Ed Westwick, and Chace Crawford – both actors had their hair down and neatly parted.
The series consisted of 121 episodes across six seasons and helped launch the careers of its stars, including Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, Chace Crawford, and Ed Westwick.

After Trachtenberg died in February, Lively shared a heartfelt message on social media, praising her friend’s positive spirit and energy.
Blake Lively described Taylor Swift as having a magnetic presence, saying you could feel a shift in energy whenever she walked into a space.
Lively said that ‘everything [Trachtenberg] did, she did 200%.’
In her memorial for Trachtenberg, Lively beautifully described him as a kind friend, helpful coworker, and courageous person.
According to Lively, she had a wonderful sense of humor, wasn’t afraid to challenge those in charge when she disagreed with them, and was passionate about her job. Despite the difficulties of the industry, she took pride in being a member of this community.
Lively described Trachtenberg as a fiercely loyal and courageous friend, someone who was unapologetically herself and lived life to the fullest.
The New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner confirmed that actress Trachtenberg died of natural causes this past April. Her family had previously requested that the autopsy results remain private due to religious beliefs.
As someone who follows inspiring figures, I was truly saddened to hear about Michelle’s passing. It’s a loss for all of us – she was such a kind and genuinely good person. I hope we all remember her incredible spirit and the impact she had on those who knew her work and felt her warmth.

The nostalgic post offered a cheerful contrast to the ongoing and contentious legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, which began after they worked together on the 2024 romance film, *It Ends with Us*.
In December 2024, the actress filed a lawsuit against Justin, accusing him of sexual harassment during filming. Justin denied the claims, and then both he and Wayfarer Studios sued the actress, her publicist Leslie Sloane, and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, for defamation.
On December 31, 2024, Baldoni filed a $250 million lawsuit against The New York Times regarding an article detailing sexual harassment claims made by Lively against a former colleague. The New York Times has disputed the claims made in the article.
However, on June 9th, news broke that a judge had dismissed the lawsuit brought by Baldoni, dealing a significant blow to his attempt to win a large settlement against the actress.
