Blake Lively Named TIME’s 100 Most Influential Amid Scandal, Reacts with Grace and Gratitude
Blake Lively expressed her happiness after being recognized among TIME Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People of 2025, despite having navigated through recent disputes.
In the midst of a challenging year, the 37-year-old actress from Hollywood found herself added to the list, as she’s been entangled in a legal dispute with her fellow actor Justin Baldoni, who starred alongside her in ‘It Ends With Us’.
Nevertheless, Blake dismissed the persistent controversy as she enthusiastically shared her Instagram Stories about receiving the distinguished award on Wednesday.
She passionately expressed her gratitude for finally having the opportunity to express herself, emphasizing that this privilege should have been granted earlier. She also appreciated Time for empowering individuals to live courageously, acknowledging that taking such a step can be terrifying.
She wrote: “I appreciate your recognition. From various vantage points – whether gazing at it from a future perspective, a childhood gaze, or any other time, I can perceive how deeply significant this moment is to me.
‘Not just to be included, but to have a voice. It’s a fortunate thing, when it should be a given.
I’d like to express my gratitude to @time, as well as everyone who supports those who live courageously, despite fear.
Additionally, she expressed gratitude towards civil rights lawyer Sherrilyn Ifill, whose leadership at the NAACP Legal Defense Fund was notable during the time when Blake and her husband Ryan Reynolds donated $1 million to the institution in 2019, for her heartfelt praise.
She went on to say, “I’m grateful for your words, @sherrilynifill. Ever since our first encounter, you’ve consistently demonstrated grace, kindness, a thirst for knowledge, wisdom, resilience, and the ability to shine light in dark times with your feminine strength.
‘Despite feelings of separation, you consistently demonstrate our profound interconnectedness.’ This version maintains the original idea that despite the appearance of division, there is a deep sense of connection among us all. It uses simpler language and a more straightforward structure to make it easier for readers to understand.
‘Thank you for your light, your fire, your work and your words.’
In a notable grouping, the actor from Gossip Girl found themselves among others, including tennis icon Serena Williams, pioneer Mark Zuckerberg (the creator of Facebook), and influential podcast figure Joe Rogan, within the Titans category.
At the event, Ted Sarandos (Netflix’s CEO), Miuccia Prada (a renowned fashion designer), Jonathan Greenblatt (CEO of the Anti-Defamation League), and Alex Karp (Palantir’s CEO) were all seated together.
In her endorsement, Sherrilyn praised Blake as a dedicated individual and a charitable figure, expressing her belief that he is determined to progress our nation.

Sherrilyn wrote: ‘I’m not familiar with Blake Lively on the red carpet or at the Met Gala. I didn’t watch Gossip Girl.’
‘I’m acquainted with Blake Lively as a person who’s deeply involved in philanthropy and passionate about solving complex issues within our nation. In 2019, she and her husband Ryan Reynolds extended their support by making a donation to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund.’
She observed: “It’s intriguing to me how well-known individuals prepare for their calls asking for support. Those I’ve maintained connections with are the ones, like Blake, who truly took the time to do thorough research.
Sherrilyn expressed her admiration for her quick curiosity about our nation’s circumstances, as well as her genuine efforts to comprehend the factors influencing it.
2025 headlines have highlighted an endorsement by Sherrilyn that supports Blake, and Daily Mail is seeking additional insights from her about this matter as it continues through legal proceedings.
Recently, Talia Spencer, a storyboard artist, alleged that Blake has attempted to seize control over “It Ends With Us” from Justin Baldoni in a report on 60 Minutes Australia.
In a discussion concerning the lawsuit between Blake and Justin, Talia passionately stood up for the director, whom Blake alleged had engaged in sexual harassment and initiated a malicious smear campaign against her, starting from December.
When discussing her previous supervisor, she characterized Justin, who disputes all of Blake’s accusations and has counter-sued her for defamation, as “one of the rare managers I’ve encountered who was both considerate and courteous.

She mused that perhaps Blake sensed his kindness, might have mistaken it for vulnerability, and possibly attempted to exploit this and seize control, she surmised.
Directly queried about whether Blake aimed to seize control over the movie, I wholeheartedly affirm: Absolutely, yes, I believe she did.
Regarding if Blake managed to secure the intended cinematic vision for the movie “The It Ends With Us,” a team member expressed their viewpoint that there seemed to be a significant concession or deviation from Justin’s initial creative intentions for the film.
Talia too remembered pondering over the fact that Justin seemed deeply invested in the movie’s concept, not driven by celebrity status, and expressed doubt about the accusations leveled against him, finding them hard to accept.
In all her conversations about the ongoing lawsuit with Justin, she mentioned that she never experienced any discomfort.
At the start of January, Blake’s defense team strongly asserted that Justin was employing tactics from the “abuser playbook” in his $400 million legal action directed towards Blake and her spouse Ryan.
As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but share this intriguing piece: It appears that Justin and his team are taking legal action against Blake and Ryan, alleging defamation. They assert that the actress devised a plot to sabotage their careers by spreading unfounded claims of sexual harassment, tarnishing their reputations.
Exclusive court documents obtained by DailyMail.com allege that Blake and Ryan exploited their celebrity status to usurp control over the film “It Ends With Us,” a project in which Justin had both starred and directed.

The libel case occurred following Blake’s lawsuit against Justin, accusing him of sexual harassment and fostering an unfavorable work atmosphere during the movie’s production. However, he has firmly maintained his innocence regarding these accusations.
In reply to Justin’s lawsuit, Blake’s legal team released a strong statement to DailyMail.com, stating: “Justin Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios, and their allies’ latest lawsuit is simply another tactic from an abusers’ guidebook.
They noted: ‘This narrative dates back a long time: A woman presents solid proof of sexual harassment and retribution, and the offender tries to shift blame onto the accuser. Experts refer to this as DARVO. That is, they Deny the accusations, Attack the credibility of the victim, and Reverse the roles of Victim and Offender.’
The production company Wayfarer Studios, co-founded by Justin, reportedly chose to employ the resources of one of its billionaire shareholders to disseminate press statements, file baseless lawsuits, and make threats of legal action. This tactic was seemingly used to bury the public’s comprehension of their actions, which appear to be a form of retaliation against sexual harassment accusations.
Blake’s legal team countered: ‘They are attempting to divert attention away from themselves by spreading misinformation that Ms. Lively took over creative control and drove the cast away from Mr. Baldoni.’
It’s likely that the testimony will reveal that both the cast members and others had unfavorable encounters with Mr. Baldoni and Wayfarer.
The proof demonstrates that Sony requested Ms. Lively to manage their share of the movie, which they subsequently decided to distribute and turned out to be incredibly successful.
Their reaction towards the accusations of sexual harassment: they claimed she desired it and held her responsible. The reason they offered as to why this incident occurred: notice what she wore.

‘To put it simply, whereas the victim is preoccupied with the mistreatment, the perpetrator is fixated on the victim.’
Approaching the woman in such a manner appears hopeless, as it doesn’t disprove the points raised in Ms. Lively’s grievance, and ultimately, it’s likely to fall flat.
The movie titled “It Ends with Us,” featuring actors like Jenny Slate, Hasan Minhaj, Brandon Sklenar, and Kevin McKidd, premiered in cinemas on August 9th.
The movie based on Colleen Hoover’s 2016 novel raked in a total of $148 million at the U.S. box office and an additional $350 million worldwide, as reported by Box Office Mojo.
