Blake Lively is “proud” of her first producing role in It Ends With Us
As a dedicated admirer of Blake Lively’s illustrious career, I must say her transformation from a talented actress to a passionate producer on “It Ends With Us” is nothing short of inspiring. Her journey mirrors that of many artists who strive for more than just being on-screen personas; they yearn to be storytellers, to weave the intricate tapestry of narratives that resonate with audiences worldwide.
Blake Lively expresses pride over her producer role in the movie “It Ends With Us“.
In this heartfelt romantic tale, reminiscent of Colleen Hoover’s 2016 novel, we find the protagonist, Lily Bloom (Lively), embroiled in a toxic marriage with Ryle (Justin Baldoni). As she rekindles connections with her former lover, Atlas (Brendan Sklenar), the narrative unfolds.
Actress Lively, known for roles in “Gossip Girl” and “A Simple Favor,” recently chatted with Digital Spy before the movie’s debut on August 9. She expressed her joy about earning a producer credit for the first time in her professional journey.
In our conversation, the actor expressed that when collaborating with him, his enthusiasm is evident. He enjoys immersing himself deeply into the project, a trait he once felt insecure about but now takes pride in. Previously, he doubted his acting abilities, fearing he wouldn’t measure up to expectations. However, he asserts that regardless of the costumes, scripts, or sets, he can metamorphose and deliver an outstanding performance.
“Since I wasn’t the one playing that role, I often felt uncomfortable or awkward about it. Many of my favorite actors are not just performers, but also storytellers and filmmakers. They too believe that being involved in aspects such as wardrobe, set design, dialogue, scriptwriting, and storytelling is crucial for creating an authentic and truthful atmosphere.”
In simpler terms, I find a stronger connection with that particular group of actors rather than the others. It’s no longer about feeling like an imposter or incapable; instead, it’s recognizing that many people I admire also struggle with this, and I believe I can excel in it as well.
“To be honest, the acting work I did for this movie was almost insignificant when compared to my contributions outside of acting. It was a tiny part of the whole project. The opportunity to have such creative control and influence over the film really touched me, making me even more proud of the final product.”
Isabela Ferrer, portraying the younger Lily in the interview, acknowledged the remarkable dedication of Blake Lively by stating: “Your commitment and hard work for this film are simply immense and outstanding – the movie wouldn’t be as great without your input.”
In our brief conversations prior to filming, she instantly entrusted me with the role’s agency, showing equal dedication to my performance as she did her own. She emphasized the importance of trusting myself and my process, just as she does with her portrayal of her character’s aspects.
As a novice actor, receiving backing from someone like Blake feels priceless; it’s like striking gold! This affirmation instills confidence, letting me believe in my abilities and strive to deliver my finest performances.
It Ends With Us is in cinemas on August 9.
