Blake Lively Claims Justin Baldoni’s Ongoing ‘Retaliation Campaign’ Amid Legal Battle
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are continuing to insist on a restriction preventing further public discussion in their ongoing legal dispute with Justin Baldoni, who is a co-star from Lively’s film “It Ends With Us.
On Friday night, the couple’s attorney emphasized again in a letter to Judge Lewis J. Liman that it is crucial to uphold a protective order to inhibit any out-of-court remarks from Baldoni’s legal team, as reported by Deadline.
In plain terms, attorney Esra Hudson explained that asking lawyers to follow ethical guidelines isn’t silencing them; rather, it’s a system put in place to ensure that the court proceedings aren’t biased due to their actions outside of the courtroom.
The Wayfarer Groups are trying to create a misleading comparison that could have serious repercussions, not only for this specific instance, but also for other women facing sexual harassment in their workplaces, considering the prominence of this issue, as stated further in the four-page document.
Hudson also suggested that Baldoni’s alleged smear campaign against Lively may still be ongoing.
What’s particularly concerning is that the retaliation campaign, as claimed by Ms. Lively in her lawsuit with substantial evidence, involves harmful activities behind the scenes. This includes frequent communication between Melissa Nathan, Baldoni’s crisis PR chief, and numerous tabloid media outlets to generate a continuous flow of negative press about Ms. Lively. Additionally, it involves a complex and untraceable digital social media manipulation strategy aimed at influencing social media algorithms negatively against Ms. Lively, according to the actress’ lawyer.
‘The Lively-Reynolds Parties have been made aware and hold the belief that such actions have persisted without interruption ever since the CRD Complaint was lodged, perhaps even intensifying. If this conduct persists, it could significantly undermine the fairness of this case.’
Recently, the legal representatives of Lively and Reynolds asked for a restraining order to prevent actions they deemed inappropriate from Baldoni’s lawyers. They accused them of launching a harassing and vengeful media campaign against the couple, which they found distressing.
In response, Kevin Fritz, attorney for Baldoni, declined the couple’s demand for a restraining order on discussing the case in a letter sent to Judge Liman just after Tuesday’s submission.
Subsequently, Kevin Fritz, representing Baldoni, declined the couple’s appeal for a confidentiality order in a letter sent to Judge Liman, just a day following their recent court filing.
Following the release of a shocking video by Baldoni’s lawyer, the first request for a confidentiality clause (gag order) was made, which showed Lively and Baldoni on the set of “Ends With Us.
The sensational video, exclusively shared by DailyMail.com, depicted three different attempts at a dance sequence involving Lively, aged 33, and Baldoni, aged 40. This footage suggested that they had a friendly rapport prior to the actress’ allegations of sexual misconduct against him.
Speaking passionately as a devoted fan, I couldn’t help but express my thoughts when the clip was unveiled. I felt compelled to point out that it clearly demonstrated her discomfort during the scene, adding depth and authenticity to the narrative.
In a statement to DailyMail.com, Justin Baldoni’s legal team expressed that they might be attempting to outrun harmful evidence against him by pulling off this recent move; however, the video itself appears to be incriminating.
The team asserts that the video depicts Mr. Baldoni repeatedly getting close to Ms. Lively, attempting to kiss her, touching her forehead, brushing his face against her neck, flicking her lip with his thumb, caressing her, complimenting her on her scent, and engaging in conversation that seems out of character for him.
In every single frame of the published video, the events align perfectly with what Ms. Lively detailed in paragraph 48 of her complaint.
In addition, Lively’s legal representative stated that the intimate scenes depicted in the movie video, which Baldoni both directed and acted in with Lively, were not rehearsed or planned out.
Throughout the entirety of it, Mr. Baldoni spontaneously created each scene without prior consultation or agreement, and without an intimacy coordinator being present.
Mr. Baldoni held multiple roles on the set with Ms. Lively; he acted alongside her, directed the project, ran the studio, and held a position of authority over her.
Lively’s lawyers argue that her action of leaning away from Baldoni during the scene wasn’t part of the script, but rather an instance of her “repeatedly requesting” their on-screen characters to engage in a simple conversation.
Women who have experienced unwanted physical contact at their workplace may empathize with Ms. Lively’s obvious unease.
‘They’ll understand her jokes as a way to divert inappropriate physical advances. No woman ought to feel compelled to protect herself from such touches by an employer without permission.’
1. Their team argues that sharing the video with the press constitutes yet another instance of underhanded efforts aimed at deceiving the public, as well as a further escalation in their persistent pattern of harassment and retaliation.
or
2. The team suggests that broadcasting the video to the media is another unscrupulous tactic used to mislead the public, and it’s part of an ongoing strategy of harassment and retribution.
According to her attorney’s statement, we are persisting in making sure that Mr. Baldoni and his colleagues will respond honestly in a court of law, instead of using contrived publicity tactics.
Among the numerous shocking revelations in the lawsuit, it surfaced that Baldoni made inappropriate advances towards Lively during a dance scene by trailing kisses along her neck and remarking, “It smells wonderful.
Last month, the actress stated in her civil rights claim that no one heard the remark since the romantic scene had no soundtrack and the microphones had been turned off.
However, DailyMail.com has secured a sensational video that we have exclusively access to, which displays Baldoni’s sound equipment being activated throughout the recording of all three takes.
The recordings depict a warm camaraderie between the two celebrities prior to their falling out. They engage in laughter and banter, even playfully commenting on Baldoni’s nose size and discussing leisure activities with their respective partners.
The recording, found approximately seven minutes into it, clearly demonstrates that the compliment about her pleasant scent was in reaction to Lively discussing her spray tan during the filming of their romantic dance scene.
In a friendly exchange, Baldoni comments to Lively that it seems like he might be growing a beard onto her, to which she playfully replies that maybe she’s giving him a spray tan. He jokes in return that it smells nice, and they both laugh before she clarifies that the fragrance is actually from her body makeup.
Although the montage depicts Baldoni affectionately touching Lively’s neck during their on-screen portrayal of lovers, their dialogue primarily revolved around technical aspects like lighting, with them discussing their respective partners for much of the scene.
The unedited footage from the filming of It Ends With Us, containing both video and audio, was given to DailyMail.com by the actor’s production company Wayfarer and his lawyer Bryan Freedman, who has previously stated that Baldoni has nothing to conceal.
The exclusive videos from DailyMail.com add new insights to the long-running story that started with whispers of discord on the set of “It Ends With Us” when it premiered in August last year.
Just before Christmas, a heated legal dispute erupted between Baldoni and the stylish brunette who accused him of sexual harassment.
Simultaneously, a report from The New York Times emerged, stemming from Lively’s court documents, which alleged his masterminding of a defamatory media campaign against her, with the stink accusation being the main focus.
Previously, Baldoni filed a lawsuit against The Times for libel, and just recently initiated a $400 million lawsuit against actress Blake Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds. This lawsuit alleges that Lively misused her celebrity influence to sabotage his film and potentially damage his career.
Initially, Lively claimed there was no sound, but a fresh snippet starts off with them both talking about the scene. The actress informs Baldoni, “I’ve missed my cue.
Funny enough, there was a moment during the montage where Sophia (that’s me referring to Lively) and I found ourselves in a little debate. She insisted that talking was more romantic, and being the agreeable one, I went along with it. Then, when she pondered if anyone would figure out what we were really discussing, she joked, “They’ll never guess.
The discussion shifts towards their significant others. Lively mentions that she and Reynolds communicate frequently, almost constantly. On the other hand, Baldoni shares that he and his wife Emily often gaze at each other, as if they’ve just met, but in reality, it feels like they’ve been looking at each other for only five minutes.
As I share with him about my continuous chats with Reynolds, I see Baldoni smile and say, “I find that adorable! Both of you seem incredibly charming together.” In response to me expressing my fear over our conversations, he humorously adds, “Well, maybe they’re not so terrifying after all!
She responds, a bit uneasily saying, “I believe it’s more than adorable,” to which he quickly concurs, expressing his agreement by saying, “I think you two are fantastic.
In the interview, Baldoni, both director and actor of “It Ends With Us,” expresses a desire for their characters to be filmed coming very close to kissing. This prompts Lively to continue discussing her perspective – arguing that it’s more romantic to engage in conversation instead of giving the audience the kiss they anticipate.
She carries on speaking, encouraging them to lean their foreheads gently against each other without explicitly saying ‘heads together’.
At that moment, Lively switches the topic to noses, saying to Baldoni, “I can’t help but feel curious about them. They’re all about noses.
Initially, he confides in me, “My nose is quite substantial,” which sends me into peals of laughter. I respond cheerfully, “Indeed! It was on my list. We need to take a moment, make that call to the insurance company, and sort it out. Just joking!
Next, the video moves on to the second recording, where Baldoni can be heard providing directions to the team and conversing about the scene with Lively.
Approximately seven minutes into the discussion, there seems to be a crucial exchange between them, which may have led to Lively’s allegations. This conversation starts when Baldoni questions, “Are you growing a beard on me?
She chuckles, saying “I might end up giving you a spray tan,” to which he responds, “It has a nice scent,” and they both share a laugh.
Lively then tells him: ‘Well it’s not that, it’s my body makeup.’
With the audience bursting into applause, Baldoni calls out “cut!” and informs them that they’ve gathered sufficient footage for a 17-minute video segment.
In the concluding shot, emphasizing their feet, there’s audio of Baldoni saying to Lively, “I’ll let you take the helm here,” to which the actress responds, “I can’t let my heels be shown because of the sparkle.
In a fresh development, DailyMail.com has released a shocking video, just four days after Baldoni’s lawsuit was initiated, and approximately two weeks following allegations that the actress handed over legal documents to the actor and his team while they were evacuating due to the Los Angeles wildfires.
In Baldoni’s movie, Lively faced allegations for not reading the source novel until well into filming and collaborating with her publicist Leslie Sloane and The New York Times to instigate a self-serving negative media campaign afterwards.
In a particular instance, as stated in the court document, Lively is alleged to have tried to intimidate Baldoni. This supposedly involved her referencing her well-known spouse, Taylor Swift, and drawing a comparison with the Game of Thrones character Daenerys Targaryen (Khaleesi), before stating, “I have many dragons.
The actress, along with her associates, is being charged for manipulating text chats between Baldoni’s publicists, making them appear incriminating and suggesting a malicious plan to tarnish her reputation – causing them to receive harsh criticism on social media once the altered messages were disclosed.
In addition, Baldoni’s counterclaim disclosed that he and his family were compelled to spend the debut of “It Ends With Us” in a basement, as Lively declined to permit him to be in the same area with her during the event.
