Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds had a much-needed date night on Wednesday, seemingly to relax away from Lively’s ongoing and intense $161 million legal battle with Justin Baldoni.
The 38-year-old actress, who recently faced accusations of adding a kiss to a scene in the movie It Ends With Us without permission, seemed to put the controversy aside for a night out.
Blake shared a peek at her evening on Instagram, showing herself getting ready and styling her hair.
I was totally captivated watching her get ready! She carefully blow-dried and curled her hair, then used hairspray to make sure the style lasted. The finishing touch was a gorgeous velvet dress – she looked amazing!
Blake took a selfie with her husband, Ryan, and jokingly captioned it, ‘Finally getting to show off my getting-ready hair!’
The couple went out without any of their four children: nine-year-old James, seven-year-old Inez, four-year-old Betty, and one-year-old Olin.

Blake’s appearance follows recent claims made in court documents by Baldoni. He submitted a previously unseen scene and alleged that Lively touched him physically on set without it being part of the script.
A brief video taken in the hospital in May 2023 depicts Blake Lively, playing Lily, approaching Justin Baldoni as Ryle. She briefly takes his arms, kisses him quickly, and then walks away with a smile.
Baldoni’s lawyers state the kiss wasn’t originally written into the script. They claim Lively not only agreed to it but also directed the scene and made sure it was included in all versions.
Lawyers for actor Benjamin Baldoni presented a previously removed scene in court on Thursday, according to the Daily Mail. They claim the scene proves the actress spontaneously initiated a kiss during filming, which contradicts her accusations of harassment on the set of the show.
A one-minute video, submitted as evidence on November 13th, depicts Blake Lively and Adam Baldoni filming a hospital hallway scene in May 2023.
In the video, Lily, played by Lively, confidently approaches Ryle, portrayed by Baldoni, briefly kisses him on the arms, smiles, and then walks away.
Baldoni’s legal team says the moment was unscripted and was not part of the written screenplay.
According to the legal documents, the actress, formerly of Gossip Girl, didn’t just allow the kiss – she actively directed the scene. The documents state she even changed the script to include a kiss between her character and Baldoni’s character with every single take, despite the original script not calling for one.
Daily Mail has reached out to reps for both Baldoni and Lively.

In a letter dated November 3rd, Lively’s legal team stated that she asked the judge to penalize producer Jamey Heath for failing to submit important documents to the court by a September 2nd deadline.
Lively’s lawyers requested that Heath present as evidence a video he showed Lively on set – a graphic video of his wife giving birth to their child at home, showing her completely nude.
Lively noted that Heath had played the clip for her ‘without warning or consent.’
Lively has accused Baldoni of sexual harassment and retaliation — claims he forcefully denies.
When filming for It Ends With Us resumed in January 2024 after the strikes, Blake Lively came back to set with a detailed list of requirements for Justin Baldoni and the production team.
One of them, according to her lawsuit: ‘no more improvising of kissing.’
However, Baldoni’s team now believes the recently discovered clip proves Lively engaged in unscripted kissing scenes months before the incident.
In January, Baldoni sued Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and The New York Times for defamation, based on an article about their dispute. However, a judge dismissed the case in June.
Earlier this month, a New York judge ruled against Blake Lively in her case against social media strategist Jed Wallace. Lively had accused Wallace of assisting the team behind the film in spreading negative information online when it was released.
The judge decided the legal team didn’t prove Wallace, who lives in Austin, Texas, had strong enough connections to New York to justify being sued in that state.
Lively claimed Baldoni’s team used Wallace to orchestrate a campaign of online attacks designed to damage her reputation on social media.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following this case closely. The judge initially dismissed the claims, but he’s given the legal team another shot – they need to demonstrate a connection between the defendant and New York to move forward. It’s all about proving that link!
Honestly, I was disappointed with the judge’s decision. He basically said Lively didn’t quite prove her case, but thankfully, he did leave the door open for her to continue pursuing Wallace in Texas. It’s not a full win, but it gives her a chance, and as a supporter, I’m glad she’s not completely out of options.
According to a spokesperson, the court decided Ms. Lively needs to pursue her claims in another court.
Ms. Lively is considering her legal strategies and anticipates a trial in New York this March regarding her claims against Baldoni, Heath, Nathan, and the other defendants involved with Wayfarer.

This newly released video appears following claims that Baldoni used technology to secretly damage his colleague’s reputation.
According to a court document obtained by the Daily Mail, lawyers for 38-year-old Lively allege that Baldoni and his team—including attorneys, agents, and PR professionals—used digital methods to hide important evidence during the legal case.
As a longtime follower of this case, it’s become clear to me that the opposing side has been consistently obstructive during the information-gathering phase. They’ve either flat-out refused to hand over requested documents, or they’ve tried to shield everything by claiming it’s covered by attorney-client privilege – and frankly, it feels like they’re doing everything they can to avoid transparency.
Lively’s legal team claims that Baldoni’s side has filed at least twelve motions requesting information and evidence from them so far.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following this case closely, and it’s interesting to see more details emerge. Just yesterday, someone who used to work with Baldoni at the PR firm Jonesworks – which is also involved in the legal proceedings – actually filed a document supporting similar claims. Deadline reported on this, after looking through the court records, and it adds another layer to what’s unfolding.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following this case closely, and it’s becoming clear that there was a coordinated effort to manage information. Lively’s legal team has revealed that Baldoni worked with people at Wayfarer Studios and PR pros like Melissa Nathan and Jennifer Abel. They weren’t just having conversations – they were using apps and even messages designed to disappear automatically, which suggests a real attempt to control the narrative and leave as little digital trace as possible.
According to court documents, Baldoni and his team allegedly worked together to harm Lively’s reputation by using various digital tools, including the messaging app Signal, voice recordings, and other software.
According to Lively’s legal team, Baldoni and his colleagues took steps suggesting they anticipated a lawsuit and tried to hide information that could have harmed their position if it became public.

Deadline reported that legal documents, including depositions from former Nathan employees Katherine Case and Breanna Butler, revealed details about Signal and related projects.
While ‘It Ends With Us’ was a box office success, earning $148 million in the US and $350 million worldwide, any positive feelings towards the movie have been lost due to a highly publicized conflict between the actors involved.
The film featured Jenny Slate, Hasan Minhaj, Brandon Sklenar, and Kevin McKidd, and was adapted from Colleen Hoover’s 2016 novel.
The movie’s story focused on the unhealthy and damaging relationship between Lily Bloom, portrayed by Blake Lively, and Ryle Kincaid, played by Justin Baldoni.
The movie follows Lily as she tries to build a new life after a difficult childhood. She meets a neurosurgeon and they connect, but she soon discovers troubling similarities between him and her own parents, forcing her to confront her past.
