Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick’s Distant Encounter at Film Festival Amid Feud Rumors
At the SXSW Film Festival in Austin on Saturday, both Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick maintained a bit of space while publicizing their upcoming sequel, Another Simple Favor.
37-year-old former Gossip Girl actor, allegedly involved in a hidden disagreement with the Twilight actress, was captured in a group photo during the celebration. However, it’s worth noting that she was positioned apart from her other main cast members.
Previously, on a Friday event, the duo attended the preview of an upcoming Amazon Prime Video film. At this gathering, it appeared that Kendrick, aged 39, may have subtly criticized Lively, who is currently involved in a legal dispute with Justin Baldoni.
In the recently snapped photo from the festival, actresses Blake and Anna, along with director Paul Feig and actor Michele Morrone, were captured smiling brightly as they posed together in the shot.
Additionally, Henry Golding, Andrew Rannells, Bashir Salahuddin, Elizabeth Perkins, and Alex Newell also participated in the fun-filled snapshots.
In a lively move, they put on vibrant peach pants adorned with shiny silver decorations, paired with a long, matching coat of the same hue.

Besides choosing a simple white blouse, she also decided to put on some sparkling closed-toe shoes as the final touch for her daily attire.
Her golden hair was swept to one side, cascading gracefully in soft curls beyond her shoulder length. Additionally, she carried a handbag shaped like a martini, adding an unusual touch to her ensemble.
Kendrick looked stylish, sporting a sleek, snake-patterned dress without sleeves, and she accessorized with a belt cinched at her waist. The belt was black.
Additionally, she accessorized her outfit with a stylish pair of open-toed, black high heels held together by straps.
Blake and Anna are set to come together again for the eagerly awaited follow-up, due out later in the year on May 1st. This new film serves as a continuation of the 2018 release titled “A Simple Favor.
The story revolves around Stephanie Smothers (Kendrick) and Emily Nelson (Lively), who embark on a journey to the picturesque Italian island of Capri. Their destination is for Emily’s lavish wedding to a prosperous Italian entrepreneur.
On Friday as well, the actress from Pitch Perfect appeared to subtly criticize Blake Lively’s ongoing legal dispute with Justin Baldoni when she tactfully avoided responding to a related question in an interview with Variety on the red carpet.
At the moment, Blake is engaged in a high-profile, ongoing court case against her It Ends With Us co-star and director, Justin Baldoni. This legal dispute started when she filed a lawsuit accusing him of sexual assault and initiating a negative publicity campaign against her towards the end of last year, in December.

It had been previously mentioned that Kendrick was feeling disheartened because the ongoing lawsuit was receiving more attention than their forthcoming sequel.
During an interview with Variety, Kendrick provided an ambiguous comment when asked about the impact of global events on the film.
The star responded, “What transpired? It seems like an entire year of my life has vanished since I consumed ayahuasca, a potent plant hallucinogen.
The actress then continued, ‘But I’ve heard the movie is amazing,’ before walking away.
On Friday evening, Blake and Anna were spotted together on the red carpet, yet it was director Paul Feig who positioned himself between them during the photo shoot.
After working with both Lively and Kendrick in the 2018 movie “A Simple Favor,” the director shared with People magazine that collaborating with them again was an incredibly enjoyable experience, expressing it as being simply too delightful.
Paul stated, “To be honest, the first one was just fantastic and it left quite an impression. Honestly, I really enjoy collaborating with both of them, plus the entire group.
Additionally, he disclosed that he welcomed suggestions from both actors as they worked on the creation of the follow-up film.
Feig shared that he often does something similar and further mentioned, when collaborating with actors, he provides ample freedom. He encourages them to decide on their wardrobe choices, props, and so forth, as he has been an actor himself and understands.

If I simply instruct someone to repeat exactly what I’ve written, I might be stifling a significant portion of their creativity or unique interpretation.
Paul stated, ‘I’ve always collaborated on my projects by presenting ideas and receiving feedback. With every movie star I’ve worked with, they would respond with suggestions like, “What about this? What about that?” And that’s the way we’ve always worked together.’
Regarding the sequel movie, he shared his thoughts as follows: “Basically, we wanted to create something exciting for both the original characters and the audience, offering them fresh experiences while also incorporating our familiar faces. At the same time, we aimed to introduce a host of new characters into the mix.
Feig excitedly shared that he had long desired to film something in Capri, and getting the chance to do so was like seeing a lifelong dream realized.
In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, the director expressed his admiration by saying: ‘Blake is fantastic! I adore Blake. I enjoy collaborating with Anna, I enjoy collaborating with Blake, and that’s about all I can share. She is an excellent collaborator. I simply love working alongside her.’
On a Friday, Anna provided an uncomfortable reply when asked about collaborating with Lively again for their sequel’s production.
In a recently viral clip posted on X, I had the pleasure of warmly welcoming fans outside an exciting event, with a cheerful demeanor throughout.
At one point, one asked the actress, ‘What does it mean to be working with Blake again?’
In a casual manner, Anna chose not to provide more details in response, and instead opted to snap selfies with others, leading some to speculate even more about a possible disagreement between these celebrities.
In another video from X, it was noticed that Blake interacted with fans, even signing autographs. When asked a comparable question, however, her answer differed significantly from Kendrick’s.

‘Blake, what does it mean to be back with Anna?’ a fan asked as the actress was strolling by.
Wow, it’s fantastic! I’m overjoyed,” the celebrity enthused, needing help to capture more shots amidst the celebration.
On Friday within the theater, the duo was noticeably standing together, seemingly uncomfortable, as they conversed about their film.
In a video posted by Varity, Lively could be seen conversing about Another Simple Favor, with her barely looking at her co-star, Anna, just a single time during the entire footage.
Their joint appearance at the premiere comes amid rumors of a ‘secret feud’ between the pair.
Previously, it had been noted that Kendrick seems displeased because Blake’s ongoing legal issues with Justin Baldoni are drawing more attention away from her movie “Another Simple Favor,” in which she stars.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I can tell you that I recently learned from a trusted insider that some comments on Instagram about her film have been distressing. The remarks suggesting that supporters are boycotting the movie due to their disapproval of Blake has been particularly troubling for her.
They further explained that the Pitch Perfect star is ‘not used to being caught up in any drama.’
According to another source, the movie’s publicity strategy is still being developed, and it seems that Blake and Anna might collaborate on certain aspects.

According to a different source, DailyMail.com was told that the only thing these movies share is Anna and Blake. They don’t have a strong friendship or close bond; they simply work together professionally.
Discussions are happening at the last moment with executives, as Anna prefers not to have any further association with Blake.
According to the source, the initial idea was for both individuals to handle a significant portion of the promotional work. This was what the production company desired, and both Anna and Blake consented. However, due to concerns that she might be embroiled in the drama, Anna opted to promote it on her own instead.
It’s whispered that Anna and Blake had disagreements about their compensation for the sequel, as well as the impact of Lively’s lawsuit on the film, which she did not directly acknowledge.
Last month, a source informed DailyMail.com, “A massive, pink elephant seems to be overlooked by everyone.
The initial promotion for this has faced a harsh reaction. Some individuals have taken to demonstrating, while others have decided not to watch it.
The source added, ‘Blake hasn’t spoken up about this matter. She hasn’t reached out to the cast with an apology. There’s been no action from her side whatsoever. Instead, she seems to be keeping a low profile. It is believed that Blake owes Anna an apology, and in fact, she owes all of them an apology.’

Anna seems unaffected by everything going on. If she were in this situation, she wouldn’t blame the movie for her own problems.”
This version conveys the same idea as the original sentence while using simpler and more common words to make it easier to read and understand. The use of “unaffected” instead of “just over all of it” helps clarify Anna’s state of mind, while the phrase “blame the movie for her own problems” is a clearer way of saying that Anna wouldn’t let the film take the fall for her personal issues.
According to another source, in the initial movie, Anna’s name appeared first on the credits (referred to as ‘top billing’). Anna believed it was obvious that she should have top billing again this time. However, Blake disagreed with this assumption.
She persistently worked hard to secure the leading role instead of Anna, who stubbornly resisted Blake’s requests. Eventually, following several rounds of discussions, an agreement was reached between the two actresses.
They decided on a system where Anna’s name would appear first, followed by Blake’s name to the right of hers, indicating they would both share credit equally in their line of work, as clarified by the source.
