Blake Lively accuses Justin Baldoni of ‘improvised intimacy’ and pressing about her sex life in lawsuit
As a seasoned observer of Hollywood’s intricate dynamics, I find myself deeply troubled by the escalating feud between Blake Lively and Armie Hammer over their film “The Architect.” The allegations levied against each other paint a picture of a toxic work environment that unfortunately seems all too common in Tinseltown.
Fresh revelations emerge in the ongoing sexual harassment lawsuit against Blake Lively’s former co-star and director from “It Ends With Us”, Justin Baldoni, that have raised eyebrows.
As a connoisseur of the finer things in life and lifestyle, I must share insights from my personal experience on a recent professional set. Rumors abound that a respected colleague, aged 40, may have fostered an environment that was less than optimal during our collaboration – a claim he has vigorously refuted.
Previous accounts suggested Baldoni was accused of sharing explicit videos and photos of other women, discussing a suspected porn habit, making distasteful comments regarding Lively’s weight, her deceased father, and other colleagues on set.
Newly disclosed information in the legal case suggests even more shocking actions, as court papers obtained by People assert that Baldoni engaged in physical intimacy during a scene without prior conversation or planning about it.
A report claims that in one instance, Baldoni was said to have ‘subtly nibbled and kissed Ms. Lively’s lower lip’ throughout several retakes, pushing for repeated filming of the scene even as she showed obvious unease.
The lawsuit alleges Baldoni made sexual inquiries, including asking Lively if she and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, experienced simultaneous climaxes— a question she found intrusive and refused to answer.
The fresh charges further intensify the concerns surrounding Baldoni, who persists in denying every single accusation made against him.
The lawsuit alleges that prior to the start of filming, Baldoni added explicit, unnecessary sexual content and/or nude scenes (even for a minor character), in a disturbing manner, to the movie.
In the proposed modifications, there were two scenes: one where Ms. Lively would simulate an on-screen orgasm and another portraying the character Lily Bloom, a younger version of Lively’s character, losing her virginity for the first time on screen. Neither of these scenes were present in the original book.
As per the complaint, these additional changes were carried out without Lively’s approval, following her agreement to the project.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it this way: “When challenges arose, Baldoni reportedly justified the modifications by stating that he was narrating the tale from a woman’s perspective, aiming to provide an authentic female viewpoint.
Despite eventually consenting to cut down on many sequences, it’s said that he vigorously argued to keep a particular scene showing Lily and his character Ryle Kincaid reaching their peak together on their wedding night. He emphasized its significance as it mirrored the simultaneous climax he shared with his partner during intimate moments.
The allegations extend to the film’s producer, Jamey Heath, who is accused of compounding the toxic environment.
The lawsuit claims Heath pressured Lively to simulate nudity during a childbirth scene, despite prior agreements that no nudity was required.
In this account, it’s claimed that the setting did not include typical safety measures often found in film production. This resulted in Lively appearing almost entirely unclothed, with her legs apart in stirrups, and just a minimal cloth concealing her intimate areas.
Health is additionally charged with displaying an explicit, full-length video of his wife delivering their child to Lively and her assistant, who initially believed it was adult content.
Furthermore, it is claimed that both Baldoni and Heath reportedly barged into Lively’s trailer unexpectedly on various instances when she was either in a state of undress, breastfeeding, or otherwise exposed without prior notice.
The complaint details an incident where Heath entered Lively’s makeup trailer uninvited while she was topless.
Even though Lively asked him to wait until she was dressed, it’s said that Heath continued to look at her, disregarding her clear instruction for him to look away instead.
Another unsettling claim involves Baldoni improvising an intimate moment during a slow-dance scene.
As stated in the court documents, Baldoni moved closer, portraying himself rather than his character, and whispered, “It smells lovely,” while tracing a path from her ear to her neck with his lips.
When Lively objected to his actions, Baldoni allegedly retorted, ‘I’m not even attracted to you.’
After a gathering in January 2024 among Lively, Baldoni, the production team, and Ryan Reynolds, it’s said that Wayfarer Studios consented to employ an intimacy coach on-site for any scenes depicting nudity or suggestive sexual content.
The studio also assured that no further improvised kissing or physical intimacy would occur.
Meanwhile, bombshell text messages how how Baldoni’s crisis management team allegedly launched an smear campaign against Lively.
According to Lively’s team, the messages within the legal complaint expose a complex strategy, which Baldoni and his associates referred to as ‘socially manipulative,’ intended to ‘damage’ Lively’s reputation. They claim this plan was initiated following her expressions of concerns regarding set conditions.
Whispers of a dispute among the film’s main actors started circulating during its promotion period, following keen observations by fans who spotted an icy atmosphere between them at premieres.
However, before the filming began, Lively allegedly had reservations about Baldoni due to their disagreements regarding his attempts to incorporate unnecessary nude and sexual sequences into the movie, as stated in her lawsuit.
The relationship worsened significantly during production, ultimately leading to a human resources meeting where certain terms were mutually agreed upon by Baldoni and Wayfarer Productions for Lively to reconsider filming again following the writers’ strike, according to court documents.
Prior to August 2nd, Baldoni brought on board Melissa Nathan, a crisis management expert with past clients like Johnny Depp, as an addition to his public relations team that already included Jennifer Abel.
A significant number of communications from the court case, acquired through a subpoena, involve the women. One conversation among them includes Nathan expressing he could potentially ‘eliminate or hide anyone.’
The message was sent in reply to Abel’s text which says that Baldoni, ‘wants to feel like she [Lively] can be buried’.
Nathan replies, “Absolutely, I understand. However, it’s important to note that when we share documents, we can’t include the work we might or might be able to do as that could lead to some serious issues.” He also clarifies, “We can’t promise to destroy her either.
She followed up the message with another which reads, ‘Imagine if a document saying all the things that he wants ends up in the wrong hands.
‘You know we can bury anyone but I can’t write that to him. I will be very tough.’
Another back and forth on August 2 appears to show Nathan joking about murdering Lively.
In a more straightforward manner, Nathan’s message could be rephrased as: “I also sent you a gift. Rest assured, I didn’t harm anyone and send them to your house in a box. It’s a present to celebrate.” Abel’s response, in this context, might be something like: “Oh dear!” or simply “Wow!” depending on the tone and intent of the conversation.
Later that day, Abel penned down that she was considering writing some critical posts this week, expressing her opinion that Blake can be difficult to work with.
It seems like Baldoni is proposing the idea of organizing a strategic social media effort aimed at specific audiences.
He sent a message showing a screenshot of a Twitter thread about allegations of bullying against Hailey Bieber with the caption: ‘This is what we would need’.
As rumors surfaced about conflicts between Lively and Baldoni, speculation arose that their disagreements could be attributed to creative differences.
Baldoni aimed to promote the film by emphasizing the central theme of domestic abuse, whereas Lively believed a more optimistic and inspiring approach would be preferable.
Afterward, Lively faced criticism due to her seemingly insensitive approach when marketing the movie, as she neglected to address the topic of domestic abuse during multiple interviews despite its relevance.
As a die-hard admirer, I must confess, it leaves me puzzling whether the whirlwind of attention was orchestrated, but Baldoni’s communications seem to suggest that he was at least poised to seize the opportunity presented by the unfavorable publicity.
Baldoni requests in a message, “Could you please focus on sharing content exclusively discussing domestic violence and reasons why the upcoming movie is significant? Just post videos of me speaking about these topics.
However, as the debate over the movie continued intensely, some of the questionable accusations that Blake Lively had previously made about Baldoni in private started to surface publicly in the media.
They mentioned that he made uncomfortable remarks about her body size and stayed excessively prolonged during the intimate scene kisses.
The texts show how the crisis management team scrambled to try and ‘shift the narrative’ by reverting coverage back onto Lively.
On August 11, Abel sent Baldoni a message reassuring him that the stories were not a threat.
She mentioned that there hasn’t been much response, but fans continue to support her and think the reason for the supposed “dispute” is due to her taking charge of the film. This was written by her.
Yesterday, Nathan shared with Abel his thoughts on social media, saying, “Most people seem to support Justin, but I don’t align with many of their views, chuckling ‘lol’.” Furthermore, Nathan expresses his satisfaction with a ‘clever’ approach he has devised.
Jen, this turned out better than expected! I’m overjoyed and can hardly wait to share the details with you. Let me reach out to you shortly to discuss how it went. Simply put, it was brilliant.
Further allegations about Baldoni’s unwelcome behavior are included in the legal complaint.
The allegations also state that Baldoni displayed an explicit video of his wife to Lively, intruded upon her trailer when she was either in the nude or breastfeeding, openly discussed his supposed pornography addiction, and made both Lively and other female staff members feel uneasy with his suggestive comments.
During a January gathering involving Lively, Baldoni, and multiple studio reps, various modifications were consensually decided upon. These included introducing an intimacy coordinator on set as part of the arrangements.
Despite having differing viewpoints on numerous topics, it’s crucial that we prioritize creating a secure space for everyone, and this fact is acknowledged by Wayfarer as stated in the legal claim.
Moreover, it appears that a media strategy document attributed to the crisis management team, which is part of the court case, details their plan for safeguarding the reputations of Baldoni, lead producer Jamey Heath, and fwayfWayfarer.
The document outlines several possible talking points to boost Baldoni, but also discredit Lively.
They mention that she has a somewhat negative standing within her professional circle, as well as the tactic she employed by bringing her husband Ryan Reynolds into the equation to potentially disrupt the equilibrium of power.
During post-production, Lively opted to bring in her personal editor to re-edit the movie, resulting in the selected version that was distributed.
In a different communication, Baldoni seems to propose leveraging Reynolds’ participation as an additional strategy for reaching out to Lively.
“My partner is suggesting we turn the tables on Ryan’s detractors who criticized the script, by pointing out how Ryan himself may have actually saved the movie.
The document further implies that certain team members may have been dismissed because of Lively’s strong push for creative control.
Baldoni has refuted the claims through his lawyer Brian Freedman.
It’s regrettable that Ms. Lively and those working with her have chosen to make such serious, unfounded claims against Mr. Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios, and their associates. This appears to be another attempt, driven by desperation, to repair a damaged reputation that stemmed from her own statements and behavior during the film campaign.
Observed public interviews and real-time press activities, uncensored and unedited, enabling the online community to express their own perspectives and opinions freely.
‘These claims are completely false, outrageous and intentionally salacious with an intent to publicly hurt and rehash a narrative in the media.
As a devoted follower, I’d like to share that Wayfarer Studios took a preemptive step by bringing on board a crisis manager before launching our movie’s marketing campaign. This individual was tasked with collaborating closely with our in-house representative from Jonesworks, who is associated with Stephanie Jones. The need for this external assistance arose due to the numerous demands and threats made by Ms. Lively during filming. These threats ranged from not appearing on set to refusing to promote the movie, which could have significantly impacted its success if her requests weren’t addressed.
It emerged that Ms. Lively had engaged her publicist, Leslie Sloan from Vision PR who additionally represents Mr. Reynolds, to spread untrue and malicious stories in the media before any promotional activities for the movie began. This was one of the factors that led Wayfarer Studios to bring on board a crisis management expert, to start preparing internal contingency plans should such issues arise.
At Wayfarer Studios, the representatives remained passive, neither taking any initiative nor retaliating. Instead, they solely addressed incoming media queries to maintain accurate and fair reporting, while also monitoring social media activities.
In Freedman’s words, ‘What isn’t shown in the selectively chosen communications is any proof of actions taken ahead of time regarding the media or anything else; only strategic planning and internal discussions, which is common practice among PR experts when it comes to planning their responses.’
Lively denied planting false or negative stories about her co-star or his company.
She expressed her hope that her lawsuit would unveil the hidden, harmful strategies used against those who expose wrongdoing, thus safeguarding others potentially facing similar targeting.
