Blake Lively appears to have rejoiced after a defamation lawsuit brought by Justin Baldoni was dropped.

For Halloween the 38-year-old beauty and her husband Ryan Reynolds had fun dressing up in costumes.

They were the old couple Carl and Ellie from the 2009 animated classic film Up.

The 38-year-old actress shared a behind-the-scenes look on Instagram at the effort it took to transform into the character Ellie, revealing she used baby powder and products from her own Blake Brown Beauty line.

The actress, known for her role in Gossip Girl, skillfully applied all of her own makeup to convincingly portray a character 50 years her senior.

A judge has reportedly dismissed Justin Baldoni’s lawsuit against a couple and The New York Times, where he claimed they defamed him and sought millions of dollars in damages.

Recent court documents obtained by the Daily Mail show that a final decision has been made in the case, effectively closing Baldoni’s lawsuits against all three defendants in district court.

Okay, so here’s the deal: this 41-year-old actor and director had a chance to refile his lawsuit after it was initially dismissed back in June. The judge gave him a specific timeframe to do so, but unfortunately, he didn’t meet the deadline. It’s a common mistake, but a crucial one when it comes to legal matters – timing is everything!

On Friday, Judge Lewis Liman announced in court that he had previously notified all parties involved on October 17th, letting them know he would soon issue a final ruling to close the case.

People magazine reports that Lively was the only party to respond to the court, requesting the case be closed but reserving the right to claim legal fees – a request the court granted. Baldoni still has the option to appeal the decision after the court rules on the fee request.

He sued the New York Times for $400 million, claiming they harmed his reputation with a report about accusations of sexual harassment on the set of the movie It Ends With Us. The report detailed claims made by a woman named Lively, but he has consistently denied these allegations.

The legal battle began last year when actress Lively alleged that Baldoni acted inappropriately during filming. In response, Baldoni and his production company, Wayfarer Studios, sued Lively for defamation, also including her publicist, Leslie Sloane, and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, in the lawsuit.

However, a portion of Baldoni’s attempt to defend himself has fallen apart, meaning he must now deal with Lively’s lawsuit alleging sexual harassment.

The actress is also requesting that Baldoni pay her legal costs from fighting his unsuccessful lawsuit, according to recent court documents.

The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for actors Baldoni, Lively, and Reynolds, but has not yet received any additional information about this story.

This news follows recent accusations in the continuing legal battle between the two former co-stars. The claims allege that one actor secretly used technology to try and damage the reputation of the other.

According to a court document obtained by the Daily Mail, Lively, 38, alleges that Baldoni and his team—including lawyers, agents, and PR professionals—used digital methods to hide important evidence during the legal case.

The legal team argued that the defendants consistently obstructed the discovery process by either withholding documents or incorrectly claiming attorney-client privilege to keep them hidden.

Lively’s legal team claims that Baldoni’s side has filed at least twelve motions requesting information from them so far.

According to Deadline, court documents show that someone who used to work with Baldoni at the PR firm Jonesworks LLC – which is also involved in the case – made similar claims in a filing on Wednesday.

The movie made $148 million in the US and $350 million worldwide. However, recent accusations from the actors involved have unfortunately overshadowed any positive feelings people had about it.
