NCSOFT has announced that it will be closing its action role-playing game, Blade & Soul Heroes, on February 19, 2026, in South Korea. The game, initially released as Hoyeon in August 2024 and then worldwide in September, will be discontinued after just over a year of operation.

Devs didn’t reveal the exact cause behind the termination

Blade & Soul Heroes is an action-packed role-playing game where you collect heroes and battle enemies. Set three years before the original Blade & Soul story, you’ll explore a colorful, anime-inspired world and help Yusol rebuild her clan, ultimately facing off against the villain Yi Chun. The game features over 40 heroes to collect and control.

So, I just saw the news – Hoyeon’s Team announced that the game is shutting down in Korea on February 19, 2026. It’s a bummer, for sure. They posted a message saying they hope we’ll still cherish the memories we made playing, but they didn’t really say why they’re closing it down. It’s a bit disappointing, honestly, but I’ll definitely remember the good times!

You can download and play the game until the EOS date

After the recent announcement, players can no longer make purchases within the game. You can still download and play it on the Google Play Store and App Store until the game is officially discontinued. The game’s Discord server will close on December 26th, and the website will follow in April.

Fortunately, the team is offering full refunds for anything you’ve purchased, and you can request one until March 21, 2026 – just be sure to include your order number and receipt. Although it’s disappointing the game is ending, you can still enjoy the global and Japanese versions whenever you want.
