Black Sabbath fan Jason Momoa moshes out during Ozzy Osbourne’s star-studded farewell show as Dolly Parton, Jack Black and Sir Elton John lead the surprise celebrity tributes to legendary rocker at Villa Park

Oasis weren’t the only rock icons to reunite over the weekend.

Approximately 42,000 people filled up Birmingham’s Villa Park for legendary heavy metal group Black Sabbath’s comeback concert, which marked Ozzy Osbourne’s last show and was their first live performance in over a decade.

24 hours after the iconic British band Oasis kicked off their eagerly awaited reunion concert at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on Friday night, the original Brummie band regrouped. This reunited band was formed way back in 1968.

Additionally, they welcomed a number of famous acquaintances onto the stage, including Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, Blink-182’s drummer Travis Barker, and the vocalist of Aerosmith, Steven Tyler.

However, it was Jason Momoa who surprisingly stole the show when he jumped into the crowd during the mosh pit as support act Pantera played their songs on Saturday evening.

As a die-hard fan, I went absolutely wild when my beloved Hollywood star leaped from the stage and dived straight into the crowd! We were all rocking out to Cowboys From Hell when he joined us for an unforgettable mosh pit experience together with fellow concert enthusiasts. What an electrifying moment it was!

The video from the event shows Momoa, who is 45 years old, taking out his braid, scaling the barrier, and moving towards the enthusiastic crowd at the stage’s front.

Previously, the actor left fans astonished when he took the stage as the host, confessing that Ozzy Osbourne had served as inspiration for every role he’s ever played.

He became extremely excited and informed everyone around him. He felt compelled to attend, even bringing his children along. His admiration for Sabbath isn’t casual; it borders on obsession, as he explained.

Every role I’ve taken on was influenced by this music; it permeates every aspect of my being.

When the Osbournes contacted me about hosting, I must admit, I was petrified because it was something entirely new to me, a complete first in my experience.

Additionally, notable attendees were British artist Yungblud, who took the stage for a performance and was later seen enjoying the event alongside Ozzy Osbourne’s daughter, Kelly Osbourne.

Dominic Harrison, known more famously by his stage name, performed on stage as a member of one of the enigmatic supergroups, sharing the spotlight with musicians like Nuno Bettencourt, II from Sleep Token, and Adam Wakeman.

In a touching tribute, they performed a rendition of Black Sabbath’s 1972 classic “Changes” and dedicated it to the Portuguese soccer player, Diogo Joto. This act mirrored Oasis’s dedication of their initial reunion performance to the same star.

Additionally, Travis Barker teamed up with drumming peers Chad Smith and Danny Carey in another collaborative band.

After being presented by Momoa, the trio of drummers participated in a competition to determine who was the best drummer globally, which they referred to as a ‘drum-off’.

As an ardent admirer, I couldn’t help but marvel from the bleachers as Kourtney Kardashian, Barker’s captivating TV persona, paid tribute through a heartfelt video, highlighting his exceptional drumming prowess.

Captioning the Instagram post, she beamed: ‘That’s my husband.’

A different supergroup showcased Lzzy Hale from Halestorm, an open admirer of Sabbath, who had already disclosed that she was personally asked to perform by none other than Sharon, Ozzy’s spouse.

In my youth, my foundational tunes for rock ‘n’ roll were Alice Cooper, Black Sabbath, Cinderella, and Dio – I used to proudly share this with anyone who would listen!

The very first guitar riff I mastered was ‘Heaven and Hell’, which made my inner child shout with delight, “I’d tread on shattered glass just to reach it! I can’t wait to perform this gig!

Furthermore, some unanticipated Sabbath supporters shared their messages via video, including Dolly Parton, Ricky Gervais, and Sir Elton John among others.

In honor of Osbourne, Sir Elton stated, “You’re one of the most exceptional solo artists of our era… You’re the monarch, you’re the icon.

You’ve faced a lot of hardships over the past few years. I truly wish today brings you more joy and happiness than any day you’ve experienced before.

In another location, entertainer Jack Black, who had earlier presented Osbourne before his enshrinement at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in October, amused spectators by performing a rendition of Mr. Crowley during a live broadcast.

Yet, one contentious instance arose within the video tributes when Marilyn Manson appeared in one of them.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m genuinely thrilled to be part of this video, and I can’t help but extend my heartfelt congratulations to the one and only Ozzy. Moreover, let me express the depth of my affection for him, as I wholeheartedly say, “I love you very much.

However, his participation sparked dissatisfaction among certain fans as his scheduled performance at the Brighton Centre in October was subsequently canceled following pressure from activists.

Brian Warner, better known as Manson, faced accusations from about a dozen women regarding acts of sexual misconduct, assault, and cruelty. However, he firmly maintains his innocence in the face of these claims.

In January, it was decided by American prosecutors that they wouldn’t be moving forward with any charges against Marilyn, as a result of a thorough four-year examination, because the evidence wasn’t strong enough.

In the past, Manson acknowledged that Ozzy and Black Sabbath were his most significant influences. They’ve shared stages on multiple tours throughout their careers.

Stepping onto the stage, Osbourne seemed moved by the enthusiastic applause from the audience as he gratefully acknowledged them and emotionally expressed: “I can hardly express how I feel.

The last performance takes place with health worries surrounding the singer, who has had seven operations over the past five years, among them a fourth spinal surgery in 2023.

Their final show is happening under the shadow of the singer’s health concerns, given that he’s had seven surgeries within the last five years, one of which was his fourth spinal operation in 2023.

In simpler terms, Ozzy Osbourne, who has been dealing with Parkinson’s disease since 2003, intends to continue creating music, but he is bidding goodbye to performing live music. This decision was made on a particularly emotional evening.

In just a few minutes, tickets were all sold out, and approximately 42,000 enthusiastic fans gathered at Villa Park for the fittingly named “Back to the Beginning” concert. This momentous event brought Black Sabbath back to their home turf – a full 56 years after they initially formed there.
