Black Panther 3 Title Possibly Revealed, Gets Huge Filming Update

There’s new information about the next Black Panther movie, Black Panther 3, including a possible title and when filming might begin. This news arrives before Letitia Wright reprises her role as Shuri/Black Panther in Avengers: Doomsday, scheduled for release on December 18, 2026.

What’s the new update for Black Panther 3?

A recent posting by the Film & Television Industry Alliance indicates that the next Black Panther movie, currently known as Black Panther 3, will likely be titled Black Panther: Shadows of Wakanda. The summary suggests the film will focus on Wakanda’s challenges following T’Challa’s death, and Shuri’s journey to become a warrior and leader. Production is tentatively scheduled to start on June 15, 2026, in London.

Filmmaker Ryan Coogler began working on the next Black Panther movie last December. In addition to Letitia Wright reprising her role as Shuri, there’s a possibility Denzel Washington will join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Black Panther 3, as Coogler had hinted at writing a role for him. Rumors have also surfaced suggesting Damson Idris, known for his work on Snowfall, is being considered to play the next Black Panther. While Marvel hasn’t officially confirmed these reports, Idris was recently seen with Angela Bassett, who played Queen Ramonda, at a Vogue event where Bassett was dressed as her character.

In addition to Michael B. Jordan as Victor Von Doom, Winston Duke (M’Baku) and Tenoch Huerta Mejia (Namor) from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will also be in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie. The film will be directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, who previously directed Avengers: Endgame, and the script is written by Stephen McFeely. The movie boasts a large cast of Marvel Cinematic Universe favorites including Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Paul Rudd, Sebastian Stan, Florence Pugh, Kelsey Grammer, Lewis Pullman, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Anthony Mackie, Danny Ramirez, Simu Liu, and Hannah John-Kamen.
