There’s nothing more unsettling than the series “Black Mirror,” which combines science fiction and social critique in a way that sometimes seems eerily real. The upcoming season looks set to delve further into sci-fi themes, tackling issues such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), while merging horror and dark futurism elements. Let’s explore what we know about Black Mirror Season 7 so far.
Black Mirror Season 7: Cast
For your convenience, here’s a rundown of the main characters and their past roles in Black Mirror, in case you’re not familiar with all of them. Some of these actors have appeared in earlier seasons.
Season release and plot
The seventh season of Black Mirror will debut with six episodes on Netflix starting April 10th. As hinted in the trailer, this new season appears to be a return to the original Black Mirror format, featuring characters like Cristin Milioti playing Nanette Cole, who we last saw in Season 4.
In one of the episodes, we find a continuation of the story from “USS Callister,” in which an unknowing computer programmer is drawn into a video game world. Without giving away the ending, certain figures from that episode will reappear in Season 7. You can catch a sneak peek in the trailer over here.
In keeping with tradition, this upcoming season promises to deliver intriguing plotlines, including a brain-bending gadget akin to the Grain tech we’ve seen before, along with high-tension sequences revolving around Artificial Intelligence.
Charlie Brooker explained to Netflix that all the stories in these series are science fiction, but they still contain frightening elements. However, these horrifying aspects might not be presented in the traditional style of a horror movie. He also mentioned that there’s some unsettling content within it. Moreover, he stated that the episodes are returning to their roots in many ways since 2011, when he started working as the executive producer along with Jessica Rhoades and Annabel Jone on Black Mirror.
