Black Beacon is shutting down on December 31 due to operational issues, after a short-lived global run

Story Highlights

  • Black Beacon is a solid action RPG with great visuals, characters, a solid weapon and specialty system, and more.
  • You can still play until EOS, with free special items given daily until November 30 and every Monday from December 1 until shutdown.
  • The devs are also offering refunds for any unused paid Rune Stones.

Glohow Holdings Pte. Ltd. has announced that its sci-fi action role-playing game, Black Beacon, will shut down on December 31st. The game, which launched in April 2025 after pre-registration opened globally in December 2024, is being discontinued earlier than expected due to operational challenges.

Despite solid efforts, devs confirm end of service following the 1.3 version update

Even though the game received a lot of criticism worldwide, I was surprised by this latest decision. Black Beacon is a sci-fi action RPG for anyone unfamiliar with it, where you play as an Outlander and experience a detailed story in a beautifully crafted world. You’ll embark on an adventure with charming characters and enjoy exciting combat.

Dear Players,

We want to sincerely thank you for your incredible support and enthusiasm for Black Beacon. The entire team has truly cherished every moment we’ve shared with you on this adventure.

The Black Beacon Team has announced that the game will be shutting down on December 31st. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), they explained that ongoing issues with running the game worldwide mean they can’t continue service after the 1.3 version update.

Devs are also offering compensation and refunds as you spend your last days

After the recent announcement, the game no longer allows purchases within the app or online, and it’s been removed from download. But don’t worry, you’ll still receive daily rewards – 1000 Rune Shards and 2 Large Spherical fruits – until November 30th. Starting December 1st, these rewards will be given out every Monday, and you can also request a refund for any Rune Stones you haven’t used.

I’m really disappointed to see this game shut down, as I always thought it had a lot of promise. Many fans feel the same way – one person wrote that it “broke my heart” because they loved the story and characters so much. Others are frustrated with the developers, particularly how they handled rewards and other problems.
